The rest area had a mixed impression. The restrooms, while clean, showed signs of wear and tear. The dining area was reasonably clean, providing a decent space to stop and eat. Overall, a middle-of-the-road experience with room for improvement in maintaining restroom facilities.

Keep driving, get off the highway and go anywhere else but here. Sundays are a nightmare, McDonalds has a line to the door, and the subs place stops taking orders for sandwiches at 8:40 even though they close at 9. Bathrooms are a mess, so there's no plus side to this stop.

This wasn't the newest or cleanest turnpike service plaza when I stopped by - the ones in Ohio are exemplary in that respect - but at least there are plenty of services here. And plenty of commotion, if hordes of folks streaming in and out on a recent weekend evening were any indication. Most folks like me were making a mad dash to the restrooms, which were serviceable enough, although hardly inviting, in line with most busy public restrooms. There were plenty of concessions that were open on a late evening, though, whether McDonald's, Papa Gino's, Fresh City, an ice cream stand, or a convenience store. Plenty of folks in line at all of these places. Of course, there's also an ATM, wifi access, vending machines, and video game machines and massage chairs if you really have a need for those. Definitely not the nicest place, but it gets the job done.

Ok bathroom. Wouldn't recommend the food, esp Auntie Annie's. Worse customer service. Kid was rude; basically look annoyed he has to work. Asked question, he mumbled with one word statement. His voice get louder the longer he has to open his mouth. I got my phone ready to pay via Samsung pay, which he screamed they don't take it. Not only he was rude, he was incompetent at cash register. I was ready to get my food and leave. It wasn't until much later I saw there were extra charges for item I didn't order on the receipt

Nice rest stop on the way mack from vacation. They were clean, had a few good options to choose from to eat at, gift shop, and a clean bathroom that was large. Parking was plentiful as well

Was driving from NH to MA and stopped over at this plaza. Really good. Lots of good shops like auntie annies, McD , pizza place, salad shop and general shops. Washrooms were good. Wasn't that crowded when we went . Lots of parking spots and good quality fuel. Good one ...

We stopped here so I could take a break after over two hours of driving heading south. We bought coffee at McDonalds and sat at a table to chill fo9r a while. We heard an employee at the pretzel place have to tell customers they had no pretzels. I guess they were making the dough, but the customers were like, "Huh?" We were there at breakfast time; if it had been later in the day I would have checked into getting a Number 9 pocket at D'Angelo's. Anyway, as service plazas/rest areas, this is a pretty good one. The gas pumps were crazy busy.

Typical service station.. you have a sitting area inside and out, a convenience store, a few fast food restaurants, and a gas station. Huge negative for me is the bathrooms are nasty.

We often utilize Charlton when traveling to/from Cape Cod, and this is one of the busiest stops I would say on the Mass Pike mainly because it sits by the major interchange of I-84. There's always a good chance someone will come across a bit of traffic when pulling into a lot and leaving, which can be a chore. We've done it for a while, so we've gotten the hang of it. The main offerings include a McDonald's with a McCafe, Auntie Ann's, Papa Gino's, Fresh City, and D'Angelo. Have patience when waiting, because it can take a while depending on what day and time is, such as lunch and dinner. Bathrooms seem to be kept up every time we go, but once in a while, I've found the sink and blow dryer not working. There is a Gulf Express market offering a variety of products, just like you'll find at a home gas station. There are a lot of gas pumps offered at Charlton with 26. The gas prices here are higher compared to other service plazas, just a heads up.

There is a sign on the door requiring masks but no one is wearing them. This will be a cluster outbreak of virus. I'm vaccinated but can still get the virus. This is why illnesses have risen so high. Massachusetts used to be diligent in preventing outbreaks, don't care anymore. I got out of the state in a hurry...my business dollars are going elsewhere!!!

If I could give this place zero stars then I would. Stay away from the McDonalds at the Westbound Charlton Service area. If you go when the parking lot is busy thinking you'll grab something quick from McDonalds then be prepared to wait an hour for cold food. Very, very poorly run!!
