Popped by here on Sunday for a browse while in Chatham and fell in love with this place. Adored many of the pieces, particularly the locally made flower arrangements. Ended up walking away with 2 arrangements, a gorgeous wreath for my front door and a lovely book. Will definitely return whenever I’m in Chatham.

My favorite shop on Main Street! I have been coming to Cape Cod for 5 years now and always stop in this shop and never leave empty handed. The customer service is amazing and the have fantastic prices. Highly recommend!

I purchased a necklace that broke. I was visiting from San Diego. The manager could not have been nicer. I was offered several options. She was able to credit my credit card. It was so appreciated. Thank you!

My husband and I always enjoy stopping in at Tale of the Cod and poking around. There’s always a lot of fine artwork by talented local artists, and a variety of classy gift merchandise throughout. It’s always my go to store for hostess gifts or Cape memorabilia. The shop has a Cape Cod charm of its own, and the help is always pleasant and accommodating. The location is at the edge of Chatham square and it has its own parking lot so it’s not quite as hectic as much of Chatham square can be. They’ve been there for over 20 years for good reason!

Went there today to shop. Before going into the furniture section they have a tray to place drinks as they don't allow drinks in this section. Well I place my drink down on the tray and within 30 seconds I turn around to see a young girl working there take my drink and run off with it. She threw it away! I don't understand why but it's ridiculous! Next time I won't follow what they want me to do....

Sales manager was extremely rude to me and my two sons as we looked at a sofa and some chairs. We sat down to try out the pieces and she snapped at us with 'don't lounge on the furniture unless you're intending to buy it'. I was taken aback as I was quite interested in the unique pieces of furniture. After she said that and berated us for sitting on furniture in the store, I certainly had absolutely no intention of buying anything from that store.

Tale of the Cod has a wonderful selection of home decor, furniture, and local giftware. Interior designer, Angela, is terrific to work with and do helpful.

I don’t usually write reviews on shops but this place was absolutely adorable. I was shocked they had a children’s section and it had the cutest items and am already talking about going back tomorrow to pick something else back up! We also found things for our home which I absolutely adore. I had to take a picture of the place so I never forget to stop in every time we come up.

We are from Colorado and we’re visiting and I absolutely loved everything about this store! The merchandise was beautiful and there were items of all price ranges available and the employees were very helpful. We loved it so much, we keep calling them up and ordering more and more coastal decor for ourselves and for gifts for others. Beautiful store, an experience to go in to this store!

Love this shop. It’s bigger than it looks from the outside. Filled with all sorts of nautical themed ornaments, housewares, jewelry, decor, ect... the back also has some couches, coffee tables, and other furnishings. Best shop on the street.

I had a wonderful shopping experience thanks to the kind people at Tale Of the Cod! They had the perfect wooden salad bowl for Mother's Day, gift wrapped it beautifully and even included a Mother's Day card. The bowl is a gorgeous walnut piece handmade by an artist in Vermont. They could not have been nicer and it was a great experience shopping here. Highly recommend for great, high quality finds and helpful friendly staff.
