About Teacher's Antiques & Oriental Rugs

Over 40 years experience selling antiques, oriental rugs all over Cape Cod and the Boston area. The business began as a hobby at the Wellfleet Flea Market where I became known as 'the teacher who sold antiques'. After many years, we opened our storefront on Main Street in Chatham. We operate seasonally, and after retiring from teaching last year at age 80, I now focus on the business during the summer and family (a proud grandparent, just ask!) the rest of the year.

    Not sure why it’s saying permanently closed. He is open and it’s a great store. Lots of neat treasures.

    We stopped by here to see what we could find- and we left with an absolutely stunning gold framed painting from the 1800s that we will proudly to display in our home! What a gem. The owner, Andreas, was delightful. We would highly suggest this shop for anyone looking to find a diamond amongst many gems.

    What an incredible place!! So many precious pieces. The owner is an awesome man that knows the story behind every single item he acquired. I definitely recommend the stop.
