After our 3rd visit to this business, I cannot recommend it to anyone. As previous comments here point out, this place only cares about ways to charge you money and add all sorts of "services" to your invoice that by the time you are paying you are surprised with how high the bill is and the things you didn't ask for but still get charged for. They are also rude on the phone, hardly allow you to ask a question, and when you show up with a BOOKED APPOINTMENT, they leave the door shut in your face, and tell you to call first. I call and they ask me to "wait in my car", while I didn't even drive up there. Leaving pets and their owners outside in the chilling cold does not make me want to spend my money at this business. Unfriendly and overpriced service.

I had to take my little dog in for a checkup because she was coughing and hacking and coughing for almost 3 weeks with no let up .. I was full of fear thinking the worst thinking that she may have cancer. she's also a 15-year-old terrier mix. They explained everything to me step by step what they were going to do to her and made sure that I understood everything that they were doing and what they were talking about. After I spoke to the doctors my anxiety lessoned tremendously. I guess what I'm trying to say is they really care because they know that your pet is your life ..your family.. your best friend.. and it's hard to find veterinarians that have so much compassion and kindness for what you are going through with your pet. I've been to many in my years growing up and may I say I've never found one like this. I tell everybody I know about this place and to try them out for yourself and see the results you will not be disappointed.

My cat has been on-and-off having urinary issues for the past month or so. After his symptoms worsened over the weekend, I called early Monday morning and they were able to get me in right away to get him looked at. I was worried that because bookings have been extending out, he wouldn't be able to get an appointment, but they were able to see him right away, which I'm really grateful for. The whole staff and the doctors are extremely wonderful to work with, and I can't thank them enough for their professionalism and assistance. Thank you, Chelmsford Animal Hospital!

Been taking my dog here since we moved 4 years now and had a good experience until this last visit. Chelmsford Vet Hospital would rather have a customer leave their practice losing hundreds potentially thousands of dollars over 9 dollars and something cents. When I was there for my dogs annual visit, I bought some more heartgard. Which I knew the one they gave me didn’t look right. I asked in question a couple of times and was told they go by weight. They didn’t bother Looking in her chart to see what her weight has been and what she had befor. Her weight is 24.8 which is in the middle of the two different doses of boxes. Mind you in the winter my dog gains weight less walks. So the inconvenience of me going back taking 30+ minutes of my time to switch out a box of heartgard which the receptionist said to just come by and we can just switch it and apologized over the phone. Didn’t mention I had to pay more for the box she had before. I explained that the woman made it sound like over the phone that it was their mistake and to just come on by and we’ll switch it out. It is the principle. I asked that this practice would rather lose a costumer over $9. Sad! Wish I could stay to be a customer but obviously they don’t value their customers. Doing my business elsewhere:-)

My geriatric dog was introduced to Dr. Meagan Merinder.....and we could not be any happier ! Willow is petrified of Doctor's... Dr. Merinder actually got down to Willow's level on the floor. She listened intently to the problems we have been encountering and offered comparable events happen ing with one of her own elderly dogs. She really seemed very interested in getting to know Willow. We left feeling really good,,.

Not thrilled with my current cat's Vet in Westford. Called this place to see if I could make the switch. Some woman with an attitude answered the phone. She told me they were booking out to December and then asked me in her snotty tone, "So, do you want to book an appointment or take your cat somewhere else?" Ummmm, I'll keep looking. I happened to look at some of the reviews and am glad to continue my search.

Have been with Chelmsford Animal Hospital for years. The veterinarians are very good. Unfortunately I just had to go elsewhere as they have taken too many clients and are booked out almost 5 months for an annual exam and vaccinations. Best not to get into this office where you cannot get an annual exam for that long out. This happened without warning, I was always able to book an appointment within a few weeks max. Disappointing, it’s just mismanagement, or maybe not caring, when they can no longer offer care of long term existing clients because they took on too many. When it comes to our furry family member, I’d like to know it’s not all about the money, money, money - anyway!

I've been taking my dogs here for quite sometime and have always gotten decent care I took my dog there for his annual visit first off the tech her name is Nancy was openly aggressive with my dog very mean to him I told her to calm down as she was stressing him and me out by yelling at him. Then I was made to feel like he wasn't being properly cared for due to weight gain and that the food I was giving him was wrong and questioned me on how many treats he gets per day and with every answer I gave I was asked are you sure that's all he's getting? He's a Labrador they're big dogs to begin with I didn't think 90 lbs was terrible but apparently it is and as for the food I was giving him nutri source I was paying 60.00 a bag for wasn't good enough so now he's back on prescription diet which is 100.00 a bag I felt like a horrible person when I said I couldn't afford it because he was on it before and COVID happened and I stopped buying it and she said well if you can't afford it the I guess you can't afford it making me feel like complete s*** I did purchase the food but honestly my dog and myself deserved better treatment than what we got today this most likely will be my last visit to Chelmsford and I'm incredibly sad about it because we've been coming here for so long

My dog just had a cyst rupture an hour before closing. They found a way to fit her in, suggested two types of care and ultimately found the best one that works for my family. I cannot thank them enough for turning a bad situation into a manageable one.

Easily the worst experience I've ever had and would NEVER trust them with the care of my pet again. I'd been using this facility for about 5 years for annual exams, so when I noticed some changes in my older cat, I didn't hesitate to call them. I had the following concerns - she was lethargic, moved slower up/down the stairs, was wheezing, meowed when picked up, and not really eating. An appt was made for 11/7. Dropped her off at 12pm for a routine exam and some bloodwork, and was called at 5pm letting me know she looked and seemed fine, they couldn't find anything wrong and she could go home. I'd have the bloodwork results back within a few days, UNLESS I paid more to expedite the results and have them read right away. I paid the money and took her home. Within an hour she was worse, seemed to have fainted at home, so I called and brought her back. At this point I was told they could do an xray, and we'd again have the results in a few days, UNLESS I paid more to have someone read them that night. So I paid more. After sitting in the parking lot for almost 3 hours, Dr. Cushing called me and said there seemed to be a fuzzy area in her lung, possibly a respiratory infection, but she didn't know and we should try an antibiotic. I had a follow up scheduled for 2 weeks out to see if the spot in her lung would respond to the meds. Total cost: $750. Between 11/7 and 11/16 she got worse, was more lethargic, not really moving about, and had lost another lb. I called and asked to speak with Dr. Cushing, and was told by the front desk that maybe the meds made her sick and I could skip a dose to see if it helped her appetite. After no change for 4 more days, I called and asked to have her follow up xray moved up, because I couldn't watch her suffer and starve. The woman at the front desk moved my appointment to Monday 11/16, told me to not feed her after 12am the night before, and to drop her off at 8am. I dropped her off, asked if Dr. Cushing was in yet as I had a concern about her mouth, and was told she worked 10-6 that day and would call me when she got in. I left them with a can of food and asked that they feed her after the exam. At 12:45p I had not heard anything, I called and asked to speak with Dr., but was told she was in at 1pm, that my cat's X-rays were taken and she was resting. I called at 3pm, spoke with another person who didn't know anything about the food and said Dr. Cushing had yet to see her. I called again at 4pm, completely a nervous wreck and very anxious, and was told that they hadn't fed her but would try to now, and that I'd have to "simply wait" for the Dr. to call. At 6pm they said she could be picked up, that the doctor was busy but would call me later with the results. At this point, it had been 10 hours since she was dropped off with no updates/results, my cat had not been fed the first 9 hours being in their care. Dr. Cushing eventually called, first saying she had 12 appointments that day and how busy her schedule was, as to justify the 10 hour wait. She told me that she didn't see much of a change in the xray, she couldn't say what was wrong, maybe it was a tumor, she simply didn't know and that my cat just "looked like a sick kitty." I asked for advice on increasing her appetite and was told to try small meals, which I had already been doing. I was then told that these x-rays didn't seem too urgent so it wasn't recommended paying the extra fee to have them read right away, that I'd hear back from their radiologist within a few days. Total cost: $350. Between the 2 visits we spent $1100 for zero answers. The next day I called Tufts Animal Hospital explaining what happened and that my cat needed help. They asked to have the X-rays sent to them, and bring her in the following day. I brought her to them yesterday, 11/18, and within 3 hours of being admitted we had a diagnosis, 2 solutions on how to treat her, prescribed medication, and scheduled a follow up exam. Using Chelmsford's X-ray

Wonderful veterinarian office and hospital in S Chelmsford. We took our dog here upon moving from Washington DC- he seems to have local allergies. We had an appointment booked quickly. For Covid-processes, they made it very easy: just cal when you're in the parking lot and then walk up to the door when told. My dog is a skittish and nervous, and they didn't press him. They examined his skin, prescribed allergy meds, and then also gave me some anti-anxiety meds for the follow-up visit so he'd more comfortable and less stressed. The techs are wonderful and friendly. I'm happy we found this great vet!
