Good choice of items. Not too expensive.

I can’t express enough how much I absolutely HATE coming to this location. Especially as a dark skinned person of color. The way that everyone at self check out treats you as if you are a criminal right from the start is absolutely ridiculous! The minute I walk into self check out I am instantly stared down and the person working in the section might as well sit in my carriage with how close they stand and neglect the rest of the self check out area until every last item in my carriage is scanned. I thought it may be a one time thing but after multiple visits this is a reoccurring thing and it makes me sick to think a location in Chicopee would act this way any other close by location is better than this one. Some training or reevaluations need to be done with their employees because it’s aweful!!!

I went to this store to buy a few things for a party I was throwing and my cashier 4551 Cindy made a very rude comment about buying a lot of desserts. I will not be returning I don’t need to be judged about what I’m buying!

Jorge from the Deli Department at the Chicopee location gave such an amazing customer service experience! He made a delicious sandwich and was such an all around down to earth human being! Thank you again! Can't wait to come back around for more sandwiches!

The Manager, John kindly assisted me better with finding my favorite snack on a Saturday than the customer service counter girl. But they keep clean aqua velva floors.

Incredibly rude employees met with a condescending and very terrible “manager”. This store lacks assistance when needed. Also know their floral department closes 3 hours before the store does and once it does close, no one is able to help you. Very uncomfortable vibes like other reviews say. Feel like everyone just stares at you and makes you feel unwelcomed, bizarre!

I just left 2 minutes ago from this location and had a small, yet great experience.
I spent 30 minutes looking for change for coins to do my laundry next door, because my hotel didn't have it which my wife said they did.
Thank you to the staff for helping me out because the service desk was closed and they made it happen. Dope staff!

Great store, calm and clean, organized, great produce, and a variety of options. 4 stars for the rotisserie chicken, not great, but overall experience nice and the staff is lovely.

Frequent shopper, have to find a new location. 15 minutes at customer service to handle two customers, rude food service employees, high prices. Not impressed.

This big Y location doesn’t seem to have as many options as some of the others in the Area mainly not enough organic I will say other than that a pretty solid big Y. It’s my local one since I’m from Chicopee. Oh yeah, and one more tip for big Y please start under baking your three pack cookies again they’re coming out too crispy for me. Actually all of your bakery cookies are just a little too overcooked.

Maybe update your stores changes like not doing money ordered anymore so I don’t waste my time in your horrible customer service line.

Up until yesterday, 10/14/24 between 1030-11AM, I had nothing bad to say about this location. I started going to this one because of lousy treatment I received in South Hadley. I’m at this location fairly often, and unless I’m shopping a big list, I usually go through self check out. More often than not I pick up more stuff than I have bags for, and need to purchase an extra at checkout. I knew I didn’t have enough bags and picked up a cold bag on the way to the self checkout. As I always do, I scanned the bag first, put in my phone number for the Big Y card, and carried on. I did not pull the tag off the bag because there’s no trash can under the register, and I don’t want to keep the trash on me, I usually just pull those tags off at home. At one point there was a brief change in who was overseeing self checkout, and a taller older woman with dark hair was in the area. She came up behind me and started to hassle me about the tag on the bag, I said I don’t pull them off right away and it was the first thing I scanned. This woman takes it upon herself to pull the tag off my bag (do not touch my items unless it’s necessary) and continue to hassle me about whether or not I scanned it. I firmly said IT WAS THE FIRST THING I SCANNED. I wasn’t about to scroll through the scans so she could see either, despite that request being made. I left, went to Starbucks and back to the store to complain because at this point I was hot about being accused of stealing. I spoke to a manager named Jim and he was very kind, I showed him my receipt and explained what had happened. I will not be talked to like I’m a thief, and especially over a $1.99 bag. Jim apologized for that behavior and said he would follow up with the woman in question. He took no info from me and that’s fine, he just gave his word that he would speak to her was enough for me and I trusted that. My guess is she was judging me on my appearance and assumed I must have been up to no good, or maybe she didn’t like that I didn’t pull the tag off, who knows? I was disappointed this happened because I’ve never had this happen in self checkout before, and my store experiences are usually pleasant.

The people at the deli are extremely nice every time I go. I tend to order the same thing every week and like to leave my order and go shop. They see me coming and get their pad and start checking with me what I want. They now even know my name. It’s the same with the cashiers. I will always go to big y. Great service and very clean store.
