I used to get my hair done here and would recommended others often when this business first opened. I truly used to love their work until I had been updated that this establishment has become increasingly unprofessional (photo evidence provided as well).
First, my grandmother wanted to get her hair done, but her hairdresser is almost on maternity leave (not a problem whatsoever),but while in the process of setting her up with a new hairdresser (my grandmother not remembering the hairdresser’s name, but knowing my mother was seeing her the next day, they checked the books). This is when we discover that my mother’s appointment was never booked?
Second, instead of calling the client who clearly has been wrongly directed they tell my grandmother to call my mom and tell her she doesn’t have an appointment. How would my grandmother calling my mother fix the situation that they messed up. your business made an error, own it, and communicate with your clients.
Three, my mother goes and calls The Beauty Box (around 6pm when they close at 7pm) to find out if she has an appointment or not. She never receives an answer, she waits an hour after the establishment opens to give extra grace to get a call back about her appointment (which is the SAME DAY).
But alas No Response…
She directly contacts her hairdresser where she admits she cancelled/texts back 3 hours before the actual appointment allotted time, but “forgot” to reschedule with my mother. She also never responded to my mother’s final text as well.
The issue isn’t the changing of book because if a timely explanation and with better preparation there would be no negative review given. However, a lack of communication and care says a lot more about a business than just the final product.
Thankfully I have a new reliable hairdresser to send my family and friends who gives alerts about booking changes and mistakes automatically rather than leaving their clients unkempt and confused.
I wish I could give zero stars if I could, I’m frustrated to say the least.

Oksana at the beauty box was wonderful! She was very friendly and welcoming, listened closely to how I wanted my hair cut and colored and did an amazing job with everything! Love my new highlights and haircut! Have so much more volume and it frames the face perfectly. I will 100% be back to see her! She is a gem and I highly recommend her <3

Taylor is truly amazing, I can’t say enough positive things about her! I went to her in a pinch after I couldn’t get in with my stylist and was desperately in need of help with color and extensions! She worked her magic and had me looking beautiful in no time, she is truly an angel!!! I promise…. you will not be disappointed 🩷

Taylor is AMAZING! She had the not so easy task of fixing a color job gone wrong and she worked her magic to make me feel human again! I can’t thank her enough for fitting me in and completely transforming my hair in one appointment!

I’ve been seeing MaryKate for a year now after a REALLY bad haircut elsewhere that caused me some severe anxiety about haircuts. I always feel safe and comfortable asking her questions and advice, if i show her an inspiration or reference picture she confirms it will work on my hair before proceeding. She won’t hesitate to recommend the option that best fits what I’m describing and always ensures I’m happy with her work. She’s confident in her skills and makes me feel confident making changes and walking out feeling my best.

I’ve been going to Eric for my haircuts since 2017 and he is the absolute best! I moved to Boston last year and still come home for my cuts cause he’s that good. Everyone in the salon is personable and kind. It’s a very relaxing environment and not overwhelming. I suffer from anxiety and the atmosphere here actually helps me relax unlike a lot of salons that are very loud and large. Pricing is very fair given the quality of the work and overall experience you receive when coming here. I couldn’t recommend this salon enough!

Taylor is hands down THE BEST hairdresser I have ever had. My first time at the salon she was so kind and made me feel so comfortable. I had never had extensions before so she talked me through it and they came out better than I could have imagined. I look forward to my appointments because it’s always a good time, and I ALWAYS leave feeling so confident.
