Walden Pond State Reservation offers a unique and serene escape into nature, reminiscent of the mid-1800s when Henry David Thoreau found inspiration here. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as swimming, hiking, and boating, although caution may be advised regarding water quality at times. The picturesque landscape provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection. Guests can also explore the replica of Thoreau’s single-room cabin, adding to the historical significance of the site. The park is well-organized, but groups are advised to make reservations in advance. Parking can fill up quickly, so it is recommended to check availability before visiting. Facilities include restrooms located at the visitor center, which is open seasonally. While dogs are not allowed, the beauty of Walden Pond makes it a worthwhile destination for nature lovers. Whether visiting in summer or winter, Walden Pond is a great place to connect with nature and enjoy its tranquil environment.
The amazing park ranger went above and beyond to everyone who spoke with her. She was so informative, friendly and helpful!
Sadly we didn’t get her name, but she went to the same high school ( different times) as Kobe Bryant)! Make sure you stop at the Visitor Center! The WHOLE experience was wonderful!

This is a great place to swim and take a hike around the pond. You do have to be aware that it often closes due to being at capacity and does not reopen for several hours to half a day. They just re-habbed their bathrooms and the place looks pretty cool. All in all a great beach day but keep an eye out if it's already closed.

As always, a beautiful and historic place. The State recently opened new bathrooms and changing rooms and added new sand to the beach.
