Barat’s is the best place to bring your watches and jewelry for repairs and maintenance! I called close to closing time and Barat waited for me past the time he usually leaves. He added links to my watch in mere minutes and charged an incredibly reasonable price- much lower than if I had gone anywhere else! He was so knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to ? I’ll definitely come here again for any and all jewelry needs!

He was able to replace the mechanism in my Bulova watch and did an amazing job. Several other watch repair shops and Bulova would not take on the job, Mr. Barat was fantastic to work with! I highly recommend his services.

Yakov repaired a Bulova watch for me recently, his pricing was very affordable and the service was great. Several other repair shops and Bulova direct would not repair the watch. He is extremely talented and great to work with.

I recently took some watches for batteries and some sentimental bracelets that needed to be fixed to the Barat’s. Not only did he put the batteries in just like that, he had my bracelets fixed within three days. He did a beautiful job and you cannot even tell that they were broken. I would recommend him totally for jewelry repair, and watch repair! I am glad I found him through Google. Now I am able to post my review. Thumbs up from me. He will be getting all my business from now on. ?

Excellent service, very friendly, very reasonable cost. Spread the word!Yakov (I hope I got that right) was willing and able to swap out the LCD display in a less-common model of a vintage Citizen Ana-Digi-Temp watch, despite this being his first attempt at this kind of repair. My visit lasted around 10 minutes and it was interesting to observe him doing the work just a few feet away. He was open and upfront about his expectations and ability to make the swap, which was reassuring. You should strongly consider visiting Barats Jewelry Repair for your watch or jewelry repair needs!

Yakov Barats is a gem of a craftsman himself. His little kiosk in the Liberty Tree Mall does not let on his years of experience as a master at jewelry and watch repair. I am always impressed and thankful for his honesty when presenting him with pieces I need worked on. Recommend him highly. A+++

What a wonderful experience. Mr. Barats is so knowledgeable. Brought a ring in for resizing. He educated us on the material, difficulty, and the pros and cons of getting the ring sized by him vs a jeweler who uses a laser. He made sure we understood the difference and that with the type of metal the ring may not end up perfectly round because of the setting. We decided to go for it and the ring came out perfect. He did it right in front us, which was fascinating to watch. Other jewelry stores refused to resize it, but he took on the challenge. So grateful, would definitely recommend and come back for any other jewelry needs.

My dad, having grown up during the Great Depression, never liked to see perfectly good things get thrown out. Many years ago, he managed to rescue a nice-looking Relic brand watch that was in the trash at work. When I complained about not having a watch, he gave this to me and I enjoyed wearing it until the crystal cracked and shattered. Left on a bookcase shelf for about 20 years, I dusted the watch off recently and decided to see if it could be fixed. Found Barat's on the internet and brought it down. The crystal was an easy fix and reasonably priced but when the battery was changed, the watch still wouldn't work because of water damage and a battery leak. I asked if it could be fixed and Yakov said he could get a new movement for 60 dollars. I decided to go ahead with the repair because the timepiece held a lot of sentimental value. After a few days, the watch was fixed and it runs great. The time and date were correctly set too when I picked it up. No lectures about spending money to repair a lower-end watch either. I am happy I had it fixed because there's something about this watch that always reminds me of my dad.

After reading some reviews here, I opted to call to see if going here would be my best course of action. I have a vintage Omega watch that was recently passed down to me, and it's one I will use only sparingly but still want it in good condition for when I do use it.The advice and overall honestly gave me the confidence that going here was the right step, so I went to see him and he provided some great insights into the state of my watch and how to best proceed. I also got a new watch strap from him and received all of this for a fair price. I'll be sure to return when I'm ready to service this watch, and others, further. Thank you!

Barats Jewelry Repair is now my local go to for watch service. I have received estimates from "other" local watchmakers, who's cost of repair were much more expensive (estimates based without even opening up the watch).Barats service far exceeded anybody else. Local, honest, reputable, skillful and a wealth of knowledge. I brought in my vintage Swiss Tudor automatic watch and within minutes had it running like new and accurately again. He actually looked inside the watch and hooked it up to a timegrapher, before weighing out our options for service. The result, a timepiece that runs like it did brand new again, I am so thrilled. Thank you Yakov, it was a pleasure!

Yakov (though I like to call him Mr. Barats) is a gem himself: honest, supremely competent, and he clearly loves his craft. I've seen him juggle two administrative tasks while paying meticulous attention to the repair of a piece of jewelry. It's worth a visit just to watch him work. And it's very likely he will to your work for you on the spot!
