For my 50th birthday surprise party this past weekend, we were lucky enough to be the first adult party allowed at DCATV. The facility is very nice. It is super clean and decorated tastefully. There are several spaces to use, including a kitchen area where we were able to stage a buffet. TV cameras were in the main studio and a smaller "testimonials" room, where friends and family were able to record greetings and stories for me to view later (it takes about a week to get the edited recording). The main studio has room for 4 or 5 folding tables for eating a meal and hanging out, while still leaving space for the green screen/Chromakey wall and studio camera. Large TVs throughout the space were used to play a slideshow of photos and the cameras fed live shots over them as well. The staff was very professional and friendly. They were helpful and gave my wife, mother, and mother-in-law lots of access and help earlier in the day for setting up. We were also able to have a bartender there for serving of adult beverages. This is NOT a place to be rowdy, so keep that in mind if planning on adult beverages and remember that having a bartender costs extra, but is well worth it.My friends put together a music playlist, so we had great music playing over the PA system throughout the party. And, as I and a lot of my friends are musicians, we were able to have a little acoustic jam session too for the remainder of the guests to enjoy.I highly recommend the DCATV for a fun and friendly place to have a unique party experience. Everyone enjoyed it and for me, it was a truly fantastic way to celebrate my birthday. Many thanks to my wonderful wife for thinking outside the box and setting it up. Thank you, DCATV staff, for excellent service and for providing such a fun place to celebrate in!
