Unfortunately, management is really unfriendly especially with children. Rules are not posted and published.

A time warp in a good way. Feels like the place hasn't changed at all in 35 years. If you're looking to relive your 80s childhood, this is the place. Super friendly owners and staff. Bar. Pretty great.

what a fun little retro candlepin gem! loved the guy working at the desk and the variety of single beers they had in the cooler - the vibes and price are right on the money.

So fun!! The balls are small and the pins are straight, making it a unique bowling experience. As an fyi, they don’t serve food. Drinks and snacks are available in vending machines. Staff was kind and efficient. Ample parking.

Great place for kids' birthday party. They bowled as best they could, and most had great fun doing it! I really like the small room with tables and benches for serving the cake, etc. to the children. The walls are covered with colorful carpets, a nice touch.

Took my family of five to sunnyside. My 13 yr old son is severely austistic, non verbal and struggles in busy crowded places but he had been to sunnyside on a school field trip and loved it. There are not a lot of places we attempt as a family of five knowing my sons limitations but given past history we thought it would be fun and give it a go. When we arrived it was crowded and busy with no apparent lanes available in the main area. My kids and husband decided it best to wait in the car while I assessed if the situation was do able for our son. I approached the counter and explained to the young girl working the situation with my son and asked if it was possible to request a lane in the far unoccupied room. She called over a man who I would assume was the manager or owner. His response to me was "why did you come now". As if I am supposed to understand when his venue tends to be busy versus not. Perhaps he should have taken a moment to reflect around the room on all the families enjoying time together with their kids and realized we had come to do the same. His response was insensitive, ignorant and unaccommodating. Then tried to tell me they were doing work to that room which I found to be an excuse as I had been in there prior to asking and there was no apparent work being done. I told him his response was "unfortunate" and turned to leave. He then followed me to the exit speaking loudly from behind to "come back after 12:30 when its quieter". I hope Sunnyside focuses on improving ways to accommodate people with disabilities. Not only was this a huge disappointment for my son as we drove away but was for my other kids, myself and my husband as we sacrifice not doing so many typical family fun things due to my sons limitations. I do not recommend Sunnyside for anyone with disabilities in need of special accommodations. Needless to say we will not be back.

Very well maintained 73 year old bowling alley with the nifty old candlepins. Decent beers are available, I would definitely go again.

Went here on April 22nd for a school function, and had a pretty nice time! Candle pin bowling is very interesting, but the place was a bit small/loud for my taste.

Retro feeling at this bowling alley. Lots of locals. Fun atmosphere. Will go again in the future. Had a great time with my friends. Only offer candle pins, which is a lot more difficult than regular pin bowling. Hahahah. Give it a try if you're in the north shore.
