About The Rebecca Nurse Homestead
The Rebecca Nurse Homestead is a significant historical site located just 12 minutes from Salem. It is the only home of a victim from the 1692 witchcraft hysteria open to the public. This homestead was where 71-year-old Rebecca Nurse was arrested for witchcraft in March 1692, leading to her execution later that year. Visitors can explore 27 acres of farmland, featuring the restored 1678 Nurse family home, a replica of the Salem Village Meetinghouse, and the Nurse/Putnam burial ground, which includes a monument to Rebecca Nurse. Many reviews highlight the engaging guided tours led by knowledgeable docents, who provide in-depth insights into the true history of the Salem Witch Trials, the Nurse family, and colonial life. Guests appreciate the personal touch of the small group tours, which allow for tailored experiences and ample opportunities to ask questions. Although there is an audio tour available, the live tours are highly recommended for a richer understanding of the site’s history. The homestead is praised for its beautiful location and friendly staff, making it an essential stop for anyone interested in the historical context of the trials and the legacy of Rebecca Nurse.

A must see location in Salem. The guided tour is necessary otherwise you won't learn as much as you could. Take the walk down to the cemetery, but when they say watch for ticks, they mean it. They have preserved the site for a long time and will hopefully continue so many more can learn what happened here.

Nice little stop. The volunteers in period dress were very informative.

We visited here last weekend. It was interesting. Didn’t give it five stars because you couldn’t tour the entire house, only one room. The walk out to the cemetery was refreshing. Cemetery was historical.
