“Amy and I had a solar system installed on Sempre Avanti this past week. I can’t say enough good things about SK Marine Electronics, Scott (the owner) and Jamie and Steve (the technicians who did the masterful installation).
Our process started in February with me getting panel sizes from Scott and going to the boat to see how many and what size panels would fit on our already crowded roof. I sent pictures and a crude sketch to Scott and he sent me an estimate. He agreed he could do the work before the boat hit the water at the end of April. I sent him a deposit and stayed in touch regarding timing and whether or not we should leave the boat wrapped to make the installation easier (weather improved so I had it removed).
Scott, Jamie and Steve showed up exactly when they said they would and installed protection blankets and worked in their socks so nothing would be damaged. After a wiring access discussion with Scott and Jamie, I removed the interior trim and headliner pieces necessary for their work. Jamie and Steve finished the 4-panel installation in 2 days and I reinstalled the headliner & trim.
They walked us through the locations of all the wires and components as well as how to use the Victron app to monitor the system and use the SmartShunt (installed last fall by Jamie) to better understand how much power all our stuff is using and how much power the solar system is generating.
We’re very happy with the experience we had working with the SK Marine Electronics team and would hire them again in a heartbeat. They provide a standard of service all other companies are measured by.”
