I went to petco to buy some fish for my new fish tank. The worker assisting me was very nice. He asked me if I had the water to test from the fish tank and I didn't. He said that we can try a couple fish. His exact words were.. if they croak there's a 30 day guarantee on the fish and they will test the water and help me get it right. Then he tells me I need to get a minimum of 3 fish. I take the 3 fish home and after just hours of the fish being in their new tank they were dead. I called petco and told them they died and the girl over the phone said.. yup you have 30 days just bring the dead fish separate from a water sample. I went back with my water sample and this was a different worker now. He checked the water and his exact words were.. this wouldn't have killed the fish but the nitrates are high and because of that I can't give you a refund. The workers should stop telling customers that the fish are guaranteed for 30 days because obviously it comes with stipulations. They should say it's 30 day guarantee as long as the water passes our test. No instead the worker I had knew I had a new tank that the water wasn't tested and still told me it was ok to fill it with fish because of their 30 day guarantee. I tried talking to the manager there but she just referred back to the fish boys. I called customer service when I got home. They were completely useless. They were going to offer me coupons. I told them I didn't need any coupons because I won't be shopping at their store anymore. The only reason I gave it two stars is bc most of the workers are very nice. It's also very expensive. Never again.

Today we came in to buy some fish and met Ben!!! not only was he knowledgeable about the fish no matter what I asked about he seem to know about everything in the store with detail!! He went out of his way to help us never once did I feel rushed or forced to buy anything!! yet I bought so many things that I was not there for because he took time to explain the benefits of the reward system perfectly. in the end I ended up saving over $150 it's nice to meet people that like their job and are knowledgeable really think he could've ran that store by himself. "Bottom line is you have a great employee on your hands treat him well" My Husband says I say make him management or lead of training at all your locations.The world needs Bens!!

Thanks for nothing - we go to get our dogs nails trimmed all the time there and with 10 min before a an appointment this lady wouldn't trim ONE of my dog's nails that literally takes way less than 10 minutes, historically anyway. Guess we won't be back. She spent more time telling me she wouldn't be able to do it than the time it would have taken to trim them. I should also mention... She was in the back for quite some time with nobody around before she actually came out to talk to me. Think that wasn't planned? Lately it just feels like people don't want to do what they're getting paid for.

I went to Petco this morning and bought 2 dogs treats and there was a sign Mix and Match 20% off. Got to the register and the woman running the register was already upset because the register was slow to start up ( Mind you this is 10am Sunday morning) once she rang everything up I said I thought it was 20% for mix and match. My fault I didn't read the fine print. So she proceeds to use her WalkieTalkie over the loudspeaker in the store. What an embarrassment !!! I don't understand stand now a days no one has any courtesy for the customer. Well anyway I didn't get the 20% off but I did walk away embarrassed. Thank you to the register woman. I hope she had a wonderful day.

Just went to buy a fish and was told I needed to wait a week.. then suggested a product for the tank that says fish can be added immediately after. Uneducated, unprofessional staff.

Yesterday we went to Petco in Dartmouth Mass and purchased a half moon king Betta fish with a new tank and set up inside. We have had a couple of Betta fish and are pretty knowledgeable yet after speaking to an associate named Ed we still Learned quite a few new things! Extraordinary customer service skills just an overall nice person, easy to talk to totally informative! Additional let us know if we need anything he’ll be there? You can bring in your water to be tested and or ask questions trust me this guy goes out of his way you don’t find that often. Thanks again Ed Posting a short video here of Aztec and his new tank He adjusted immediately and thanks for the tip of that food he loves it! ????

Affordable, great care for your pets' regular care! The facilitators and staff are lovely and caring. They get all the stars! I just wish Petco would give them a dedicated space to work in. It's such a valuable service that they provide!

My now one year old pup has been groomed at petco in Dartmouth a few times. Groomed monthly and I adore PETCO Taunton for grooming. But my most recent grooming closer to home in Dartmouth and just an awful experience. Not sure total cost for grooming and bought the extra flea and tick treatment--- but around $100. When i arrived to pick up once they called--- no bow in her pony tail... asked if they found any ticks (bad this season despite the good collar) she said just one. And i asked if she did Tick and flea treatment and she asked someone else--- and then grabbed a little squirt thing and put a few drops on my pups neck and said all set. Pups face was dirty but assumed maybe from eating treats? Later that night I found a large tick on her snout. About the size of large nail head. Full of blood. Clearly face not cleaned or clipped--- nor check for ticks! The next day she began licking her paws which she never does and later that day paws bleeding all over house. Back paw had fair amount. I thought she had ripped something---- had no idea what was wrong until saw her bleeding from her nails. I pulled my cameras to make sure nothing had happened---- just saw her licking her paws. Petco Dartmouth please dont do this to another pup. I only went to you as during covid no reputable groomer had any availability for new pups. It is inhumane having people not qualified to groom dogs allowed to butcher their nails like this. Maybe give baths... but this should have never happened.

Absolutely amazing! Our groomer was Lindsey I let her know that my pup was traumatized by past groomers (not at Petco). I also let her know that he probably would not let her cut his nails as he only lets the vet do it. When I arrived to get him I was beyond pleased!!! He smells amazing, looks fantastic, and was not shaking! He wasn't even phased that I was there to pick him up. Lindsey let me know that he did so well and didn't bark once. I am so happy! Usually a great experience but I guess not during these times, I usually go and I don't Always get help but I always know where everything is that I'm buying and employee are always nice and have a positive attitude but this time it was different I was shopping for different things. I get there's a limit of people to be in the store and there's stuff going on in this world at the moment but after 10 min of being there instead of helping us and asking us if we needed help an employee was kicking us out with attitude and telling us with attitude that there's other people who need to get in the store and all I needed was one more thing and instead of helping she were rushing us out thanks for no help, if it wasn't that I need to go there for my pets essentials I would never go back to be honest I hate rude people but at least the cashiers nice she's always nice and I know her from around thanks Vanessa for being a great cashier n the other girl I didn't catch her name because I was so annoyed with her.
