I brought a 2008 Caddy CTS in for inspection, and it was noted that the high beam on the driver's side was not working. In the past, other places I have taken it to have noticed it being out, but shrugged it off as being too difficult and/or too expensive to repair. This time, however, they would not pass the inspection; at that point, I was worried that I was going to be sold a huge ticket item to repair these wickedly expensive Caddy proprietary lights.
That's not what happened.
The mechanic spent a ton of time (which he didn't charge me for) to look up replacements parts. He found one at a junkyard that they wanted $1200 for. An OEM replacement was $1700. He could have easily just said "that's what it costs" and charged a markup plus labor.
That's not what happened.
He then went on to find the part on eBay, and let me know that I could, with the exactly correct search, find the part for much cheaper, and then if I bought it and brought it in, he'd replace it.
That's exactly what happened.
With his help, I was able to find the part and buy it... for $160! I brought it by and he installed it the same day. But then, what he also did was shine up the badly worn headlight covers so that they are sparkling clear like new, and fixed a years-old issue with my tire pressure monitor system (an issue no other mechanic has ever been able or willing to fix, always telling me I have to take it to a dealership).
My total bill was a tiny fraction of what the part alone would have cost from a junkyard. The job was done quickly, accurately, and with craftsmanship. On top of all that, the entire staff was helpful, accommodating, and friendly. All in all, it was an out of the park grand slam. I'd give a sixth star if I could.

The lock on my SUV hatch broke and I went to Ella's, where I've been getting gas for years.They were terrific! They fixed it immediately and their pricing is very fair.I highly recommend Chamel in the Service Department and Danny in the fill-up department.I plan to tell all my friends and co-workers to go to Ella's on Bridge Street.Thank you!

Just got gas here and received great, courteous service from the man mentioned in the negative reviews. No idea what’s going on with those reviews but that wasn’t our experience at all. This place seems great!

This is the worst place I’ve ever been to. The manager is a crook, they tried to charge me 2 times for break service. I don't suggest anyone to go here for service I don’t want the same thing to happen to anyone else.Update- to owners responseIt’s highly unfortunate that you fail to review a copy of the invoice. I paid in full which I should not have. I have included it with my posting for all to see. It is VERY CLEAR that I was doubled charged for the rotors from your invoice and should be reimbursed. I did not want additional service performed and made that clear. So what was the result? Let’s double charge a customer for service? Come on… poor business practices. Taking advantage of the public, you should be ashamed. Your business is still performing UNFAIR actions THAT MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. Warning to all who continue to do business with Ella’s Gas Station in Dedham MA.

Some of the negative reviews on here couldn’t be further from the truth. I get gas here all the time and they’re the most friendly people! Recently got my car fixed and will be coming back for any future car repairs! Highly recommend!

This place sucks ! I went to Ella’s to buy a candy bar and Gatorade meanwhile the old worker threatened me with a baseball bat behind the counter. He proceeded to cuss me out and indefinitely ban me. I do not recommend this place!
