Ive always gotten my dogs groomed at Petco in Dedham for over 10 years. I just got home from grooming my two new mini Bernedoodles who are puppies (8 months) and my experience today was very frustrating. When I arrived, Brittany (the groomer) came out and saw my pups, she was instantly frustrated because the appointment that was booked at my last visit was for two small dogs and my dogs were now medium sized, so she expressed it would take her a longer time. She then went on to look for the paperwork for them and didn’t ask me how I would like my dog’s haircuts so I proceeded to talk to her. Due to the inconvenience of the timing constraint with their unplanned size, I told her she could skip the haircut for Enzo and just cut Masons hair. I asked for a length of 5 on Mason. She gave me no reassurance that she was listening as she proceeded to say “ok” while still looking for the paperwork. I left my pups very nervously and when I returned to pick them up, not only did Brittany not bother to bring them out or let us know how the cut went, but my Mason had been pretty much completely shaved. It was so frustrating because we have worked so hard to maintain his hair all this time and make sure he never got too knotted. I previously had Kaylie do their hair who was so kind and did an amazing job so I have to give her credit where it’s due and I made sure to book with her in August. Leaving pics for reference, I love Petco Dedham, just hated this experience and needed to express myself. I tried calling but they are always so busy there I never get an answer.

I have been going to get my dogs nails cut here for 10 years and the grooming staff has been wonderful with a very nervous chihuaha. However, attempted to get the dogs nails cut 2x last week and they were not accepting walkins.(they do not give appts for nail trims) Talked to the manager who was very unapologetic and matter of fact. Went home and called Petsmart and will be heading there in the future.

I definitely do not recommend coming here for grooming. The staff were utterly unable to deal with a dog who gets nervous about being groomed as so many do. It’s worth paying more at a local business with more compassionate and knowledgeable groomers. At this location, they’re clearly only interested in moving through services as quickly as possible and not actually caring for the animals.

Seven minutes before closing I was not able to go into the store. The person stopped me at the door and told me I could not go into the store, they were NOT closed, yet stopped me at door to ask what I wanted to look at. When I told the associate, they proceeded to tell me it was their policy to not let people look at any animals an hour before they close. Never heard of it. It was ridiculous, when I reiterated and asked “so you’re saying, you are not closed yet I can not come in? Why turn down a 40 dollar sale?? Just ridiculous I r never seen anyone stand at the door and pronounce they are closed before they actually are. Not impressed at all!!!

One of my birds had passed away and I’ve been dealing with a bit of depression and so has the bird I had left. Today we went and picked up Leo and we are both doing a lot better thanks for all your help Petco

This Petco is usually pretty good. However, I showed up with my dog at 410 for a nail trim and I was told they don't do nail trims past 4 on Sundays because they close soon. ? Grooming is supposed to close 50 minutes after that??
