I am a regular customer at Dedham Star Market. When you have a sale in the meat department, there is usually little or no sale product to be found. When you do find it, there is unacceptable fat trim left on. (Such as eye round roast beef, lamb chops, pork chops, etc). I was in the Gloucester, MA Shaws yesterday and there were plentiful eye rounds in the case with a very fair trim. Why isn’t the Dedham store like that. The Dedham store makes it very difficult for a good customer to take advantage of a sale. I have attached a picture of the Gloucester store’s eye round sale yesterday
I have also added pictures of the Dedham Star Market case for comparison.

The store is huge and prices much better than my home town grocery so I make the 15 minute drive to supplement what we need.

Seems like they're heavily set up for online pickup orders? Dunno.
Kind of a weird parking lot flow. There's only 1 entrance at the right side of the building. So there's a bottleneck from the medians/curbs. It's better pulling into a spot earlier than driving str8 to the store and pushing through pedestrians.

Horrible service from afternoon on. Stood at the deli counter for 15 minutes while an associate just stared at me. I will not buty fish from there again after gettong home with rancid fish twice. No managers to oversee the teens working the registers, who talk to each other and stand on their phones. Multiple times they missed ringing me in for items because they're not paying attention. Also, many items especially the meat on sale, aren't available in the morning or after 5 in the afternoon for whatever reason. I only go there if I absolutely have too. Roche Bros. has better quality and way better customer service.

My Family and I were anticipating having roast beef for Christmas Eve dinner my wife bought this on Sunday and by the next day it started turning gray and green, in the package . Granted, we did not save the receipt but we kept it in its original packaging so when I took it back, I was met by Ryan the store manager at Customer service and he said that I could not get reimbursed because I did not have a receipt. So I said one of two things I understand that if you need to be reimbursed that a receipt is required, but there’s a barcode and it can be scanned to show proof that it was bought at the store in Dedham and furthermore, I have my debit card, which I made the purchase and he said no that can’t be done Then I asked for a store credit which he also denied me. He said the best he could Was give me back the rotted roast beef.
Ryan claimed he was the store manager but after we spoke with Customer service in the main office of star market, they said that they did not have a manager on site by the name of Ryan This star market is pitiful and “Ryan” was the worst Customer service employee ever known in my dealing with anyone I’ve ever dealt with in the Customer service industry

Wilmar Ruyz - Store Manager
Your employee name Eddie is unprofessional, rude, disrespectful and a liar!! He hung up on me when I asked to speak to the manager, I called back he stated he was the manager.
This type of service is unacceptable, I will continue to protest this store until he is reprimanded or fired. There is too many people that need a job and would love to provide satisfactory customer service. Do better or lose customers

Unprofessional management. I was doing an Instacart shop which was rather large, was harassed by 3 different employees for suspected shoplifting, I tried to show the manager that I was shopping for Instacart after she sent one of her employees out to follow me to my car, mind you my friend who was helping me with the large order was still inside with the carts and my purse. I went to my car for my coffee. Imagine putting your employee at risk like that. Why I was targeted out of all the other Instacart shoppers loading up because there was a price glitch on their website and apparently that’s why everyone had several carts full, IDK..she was so dismissive and awful. I was there shopping for one of their customers. Disgusting. I left the store in tears.

This was my family's go to spot to shop, but after my experience I'm not sure if we will be going back. My partner and I shop separately but use one cart, and it is easier to use self checkout so we can sort out items faster. If it was busy, we would go to a cashier, but after we started there were 3 empty registers. I was bagging and putting away my items and helping my partner next to me with his information, and I turned around to find a man Inches behind me using my register (I wish I was kidding, I almost hit him when I turned)! As I mentioned, there were 3 other empty registers, and I still had my receipt in the slot as I was in the middle of bagging. The attendant was even trying to take my receipt (which I always need). After I turned and said I wasn't done, both the attendant or the man (I later found to be a worker as well) didn't say a Word and continued the transaction. All it would have taken was an "excuse me, I'm sorry" and I would have been fine, but the fact that there were ample empty registers and that neither said a word to me was appaling. This isn't the first negative experience I've had with workers at this location, but I know a few women who would Not do so well having a random man in their personal space. Be safe, and be warned lol
