Pet Grooming

Critter Corner
681 Congress St, DuxburyBeen taking my Max here for close to 5 years. I had an appointment this past Saturday and had to cancel due to sickness. Jenn called me Tuesday to let me know she had an opening.Normally she books 3-4 weeks out and is so busy she’s not even taking new furbabies as clients.I really thought it was going to be a hopeless cause to get Max groomed before we left for vacation. Jenn made it happen. My only thing is …I only want Jenn doing the grooming.Reasonable prices, great grooming and loyal to her customers!I was happy with her prior to this but this just cemented our groomer/client relationship.Oh yeah almost forget, my Max practically runs head first into the door to get in, trust me that’s saying a lot!

The Sun Tavern
500 Congress St, DuxburyEverything about the Sun Tavern was excellent!
Our server (Sam, I believe) was lovely, attentive and helpful.
We ordered drinks, apps, dinner and dessert and each item was perfect.
Apps: hummus- great flavor, pita bread was perfect. Definitely more than your standard hummus!
Lobster ravioli- so good! Rich flavor, perfect to share and have 1 each.
Coconut shrimp- excellent!
Dinner:
We ordered New York Sirloin, Atlantic Salmon, Cod, Fish and Chips and Two Way Duck.
I had the duck- it was So good!! I do not often order duck but decided to try it. The leg was 'confit' and the flavor and texture was delicious and tender. I forget how the breast was prepared but it was also wonderful (though I preferred the confit leg!). Each piece of the dinner was flavorful, never overly salty, just delicious.
I tried a bit of the fish and chips and loved the flavor and texture of the batter!! It was not bland like many batters, not sure how best to describe it other than tasty!
Everyone else loved their dinner as well.
Dessert: limoncello cake- yummy!! Not too rich, not too sweet.
Others had an apple bread pudding sort of dessert (not sure exactly what it was called), and they loved it.
We did not see a ghost or experience anything odd, but the experience of being in such an old building was very unique. We sat on the tavern side. The tavern is first come first serve- we arrived at 4:50pm and by the time they opened the door at 5:00, there was a line of a dozen or more. The dining room is reservation, but we enjoyed the cozy tavern and the woodstove. This was a saturday mid winter and there it was packed, so keep that in mind and plan accordingly
