Great free parking area for Doane Rock and coastguard Beach. The walk to the beach is about 3/4 of a mile, going over a picturesque marsh and woods with classic cape cod shrubs and trees. The parking area has a bathroom and Doane rock itself is very unique to see.

The rock is a big rock. The kind of thing you look at and after a minute you are done with it. Kids might enjoy climbing on it though. We planned on having a picnic lunch there as they have pavilions and tables. We lasted about 4 minutes as the mosquitoes were crazy thick. No way we would have enjoyed our lunch and the sheer blood loss would have been catastrophic. Bring strong bug spray or better yet, thermacell. 30% deet spray just made them angry and they the swarm became larger. I think it is a nice place but because of the skeeters I am saying 4 stars plus we had ticks on us as well.

Lovely picnic area close to coast guard beach. Several covered picnic shelters, shaded picnic tables, flush toilets, and a 3/5 mile loop trail to see the Doane memorial. Doane rock is a glacial till boulder. The memorial is for the Doane pilgrim homestead, not a lot to see, but cool memorial to the history of the area while taking in the ocean breeze and lovely weather.

Best equipped picnic area i found in the cape! Restrooms were clean and stocked, the water was filtered (and tasted refreshing), there's several grills and picnic tables, a couple pavilions (incase it's raining a I experienced) and you can hit a trail or two to walk off your lunch.

Comfortable and usually pretty quiet. There are a few tables and covered areas that can be a great way to just sit and listen to the woods ( pretty deep set into wooded area which is a good noise buffer from the road traffic that is going back and forth to the beaches.

The largest glacial erratic boulder on Cape Cod. Doane Rock was left behind by glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age between 12,000 and 18,000 years ago. This giant boulder reaches 18 feet above the ground, and may go as far as 12 feet underground.

Being a Doane it is an honor and privilege to visit my beloved family rock. However, I am quite displeased with the lack of facilities & how dare you post signs that pets are not allowed. As this is my family’s land, I therefor permit ANY and ALL fur babies. Especially my son who is also a direct descendant (Indiana Doanes). Good day sir.

This was very nice and clean, we happily had a picnic that we packed that was actually meant for another park, but we came across this lovely spot.

Nice and scenic, and a very good place to smoke. You can climb the rock, explore the trails, sit at the benches, befriend the rock, etc. There ARE public bathrooms but as is the case with most public bathrooms at scenic places oncape, they close during the off-season. Lots of places to pee discretely though, but you didn't hear it from me.

A great side trip if you're biking on The Nauset National Seashore Bike Trail. A lot of kids seem to like climbing the rock. There are picnic tables and bathrooms(in the summer).

Nice place to park and take a quick .5mile hike to Coast Guard beach! I was there in the rain so there was a parking spot.

Beautiful place, close to the beaches. Be prepared for mosquitoes, a lot of mosquitoes.
