The most loving, professional and honest vets I've dealt with in the 20 years I've lived on the cape. They're always honest about what my pet really needs and what we can wait on and I really appreciate that! The facility is remarkably clean and the staff always remembers my pet's name. I really enjoy the personal touch and professional training everyone there serves up. Dana D. and Friskie

Never leave reviews but had to express how amazing my experience was at Lower Cape vet services in Eastham. We are visiting from Boston and my dog needed to be seen for a hot spot he developed. Several other outer cape veterinary clinics would not see us because we were not regular clients or would have charged an outrageous fee to be seen. Lower Cape not only saw us that day, but did not have an up charge for non regular clients. The clinic itself was clean and organized. Every staff member was friendly and kind to my pup. When the doctor was having a hard time finding the exact spot on my dog that was irritated, she invited me to the back room to help locate it and be with my dog. The team allowed me to remain in the back for the remainder of the process as my dog was nervous. The staff was upfront about cost and was very clearly trying to find the best balance of medications at the most reasonable cost. I greatly appreciated this as many other vets may tell you that you need unnecessary meds or products just to charge you more. The staff made sure my dog felt safe and had everything he needed as well as answered any questions I had. If you find that you need a vet on the outer cape, this is the place to go!

8/12/2024 - I have officially filed a formal complaint against this practice to the Massachusetts veterinary board for withholding patient records.
8/12/2024 Edit:
- My bill has been paid up since last month and was told I would receive my dogs records from them. It’s been 5 weeks and they’re still that incompetent that they haven’t sent an EMAIL with my dogs records attached. It seems this practice cares more about money than the pets health and safety. I can’t get her heartworm meds now because it’s been so long! They’re gonna have to do ANOTHER heartworm test at a different vet, thanks a lot. This practice is an absolute joke and seeing more and more 1 star reviews pop up makes me happy that people are speaking out about their experiences here.
Drs are amazing. Receptionists are worse than a pair of feral cats. Was essentially shamed for not having enough money to pay for my vet bill on the spot and received some amazing attitude from the receptionist with tattoos. The reception took away meds my dog needed after I was given them by Dawn, and left me stranded (I could’ve paid for those but they told me I wasn’t allowed to) I have to agree with Kevins review from three months back, thank god for the vets at brewster vet!! ?
If you care for your animals and don’t want to be overcharged, don’t bring them to eastham. If you want quality veterinary services along with friendly reception, I will highly recommend Brewster Vet.

I took my dog here for her annual physical, bloodwork, and vaccinations. The visit took place in a portable building and I was asked to hold my dog while the vet tech administered her vaccines. When I left I was charged $357.50, which I paid at time of service. Over three months later, I received an email stating a payment of $64.40 was overdue and they were going to send me to a collection agency. When I called, they indicated that at my dog's appointment, they forgot to charge me for the Bordetella Oral Vaccine. I thought that was strange and told them I would not pay for a vaccine they forgot to charge me for 3 months earlier. They told me, my pets would not be allowed to be seen there anymore and sent their records. I ended up paying them. Now they are refusing to fill my dog's prescriptions for heartworm and flea and tick meds. They care more about $60 than your animal's health. Now I have to take my high anxiety dog into a new vet 2 months before her annual vaccines are due to get a new prescription and then again in 2 months. Find a vet that cares about your pets more than they care about 60$!

I was charged almost $500 for 2 X-rays for my dog and over $100 for access to the X-ray by a vet that did no examine whatsoever. I have seen several vets here. They are cold, impersonal, and curt. And their services are grossly overpriced. As an eastham homeowner they have a great location. That’s their best attribute. I’ll never go back again.

Thanks Jennifer Colton Hospital Manager for Herring Cove and Eastham Veterinary Hospital. If you did not fire me as a customer I would not have found the best veterinary service on Cape Cod Brewster animal Hospital, after being a customer of yours for close to 25 years for 3 dogs and 2 cats. Since this new company has taken over and you have arrived both office have lost good vets and office help. So I complain about the service or should I say not service and how you never answer the phones or emails and you fire me as a customer. Dr. Jay you need to leave this place and reopen your own practice so your good name is not associated with this place. Folks if you want to go to see a great vet go to Brewster animal Hospital the staff the vets they are great. Don’t trust your animals treatment to Eastham veterinary Hospital or Herring Cove because if you complain they will fire you as a customer. My termination letter????????????????? so as of now I’ve already got eight customers of East ham Veterinary to leave them and go to another vet, Brewster animal hospital you people are crazy if you allow these people to treat your animals I will continue to get people to leave there and go to a better vet. So for those people that say, their dogs and cats are their babies and you’re still letting Eastham Veterinary treat them. You must not love them as you say you do.

this is the best staff most caring they went above and beyond and are there for the animals. I've never encountered another vet service with so much caring and love for the animals they help

Very disappointed with this practice. Never felt like they cared for the pets as much as the money.

I cannot say enough about how excellent my recent trip here was. From the staff and technicians on to Dr. Larned, everyone was kind, patient and reassuring - and honest. I truly felt heard and that I can trust everyone here to guide me in making sure my cat gets the very best care - and that’s so valuable to me I had to leave a rare review.

What a difference upper management makes in the climate of a business! Our entire family had been happily using Eastham Vet for over 30 years up until yesterday, when I was handed my pets records by a young, inexperienced receptionist who evidently "fired me" from being client there any more, for questioning one charge on my bill!My first experience with this individual was a few weeks ago when I was attempting to pay my bill with Care Credit. They kept telling me that I had to pay first and submit to my insurance company afterwards. I was trying to explain that Care Credit was a form of payment, not insurance, however, it was too confusing for them. A couple days later, after speaking with the supervising receptionist, that situation was clarified. The next time I saw the young, blond receptionist, they seemed to have everything figured out and was helpful (although I’m not sure how much of that was the supervisor behind the scenes). Now yesterday, I came in with my other pet for an annual visit. I expressed some concern to the doc about small dogs sensitivity to the vaccine that they wanted to give. They suggested that I could have given my pup Benadryl pre-appointment, however, since that didn’t happen, they could give our pup a Benadryl shot before hand, to avoid a reaction and just wait 20 min to give the vaccine. When I got the bill ($400 for annual exam), I noticed that the Benadryl was $37.50. As I was walking out the door, I stated "Wow, the Benadryl shot was $37.50?!", to which the receptionist responded curtly "YES. Those are our costs." I turned around and said "I understand, it just would have been nice to know before they did it. Its ridiculous." and I walked out the door. Twenty minutes later, after the tech gave my pup the vaccination in my car, the receptionist came out and argued with me that they asked the doc, and doc confirmed that they had gone over the Benadryl shot with me. I told them that my issue was that I hadn’t been told the cost and was annoyed to the point where I asked them to step away from my car. They then said that I was rude to them and slammed the door in their face (apparently in the trailer where they were sitting ten feet away from me?) and said “Here are all your records” (indicating that I was terminated from being a client of the practice?). I couldn’t believe what had just happened! Within the past few weeks, we have spent over $6000 on vet bills, so I don’t want anyone to think that this is about $37.50.I used to walk into this practice and be greeted by friendly faces with great attitudes that had been there for years, some for decades. Both my pets and I felt comfortable with the high standard of care. The climate is different now. I was told yesterday, when my pet was being poked 7 times in an attempt to draw blood, that I wasn’t allowed to hold him because it would be a liability if he bit me. Liability over patient comfort and care. Not the techs fault. These policies are pushed from the top. This is not to say that I don’t like anyone there. There are some new faces that have been perfectly fine and I’m sure are good, well-intentioned people. There are also two shining stars that I would like to single out. One is Dawn, who bends over backwards, going to bat for the needs of the client, in a considerate and helpful way, always with a smile. The other is Doctor Larned, who was very knowledgeable, supportive, and compassionate, through an extremely sad and frustrating time when my pet was very ill. I will write another review for Herring Cove, in Provincetown based on my positive experience with them.I am hopeful that after reading this review, in conjunction with the last review, which I see was only written a week ago, where the client had a frighteningly similar reception experience, the upper management of this business, (that I will never recommend to anyone I know again) will get the hint that they need to make some serious changes. PS Writing boiler plate responses to peoples reviews, when they have legitimate concerns, is n

Absolutely worst experience with a vet I have ever had. From loosing our dogs bloodwork to not putting notes in so the other vets know to refusal to be helpful in anyway. I recommend never bringing your pet here

Very kind and speedy. Worked with me, and my pets anxiety came out to the car to do pre workup.
