This was our second year staying in the Nantucket Cottage right on the National Seashore at Fort Hill historic area with Jean and Gordon. Jean is extremely responsive and right on any question or request. The cottage is extremely clean (Jean does the cleaning herself, I understand) and the grounds are superb. You can sit outside and view the marsh and the sunrise or inside on a rocking chair! It's a spacious "one bedroom house." Fort Hill is very close to Orleans, Rock Harbor as well as Wellfleet. The Coast Guard Beach Visitor Center is 3 minutes away! The Fort Hill B & B is very private, birds singing and the view out of every window is lovely.

This was our 7th year at the Nantucket Cottage at Fort Hill B&B. That tells you how much we love it. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need from beach chairs to an electric tea kettle and ever so much more. It's very comfortable and quiet, and the hosts, Jean and Gordon, are just superb and will do anything you desire to enhance your stay. It's also in a perfect location to access most places on the Cape.

The best. My husband and I took our first trip to Cape Cod and were lucky enough to stay with Jean and Gordon cottage at the Fort Hill Bed and Breakfast. The cottage is beyond clean and organized. Personally, I got the R&R I needed and spent a day curled up there reading a book. Very private with easy access to more crowded places on the Cape. The whole Fort Hill area is a gem. We rented ebikes for 3 days and went up and down the trail nearby. Do not hesitate to book.

My wife and I spent a few absolutely wonderful days at Fort Hill B & B. We stayed in the very comfortable and unique Nantucket Cottage. The B & B is quiet and beautiful. The grounds are loving cared for by Jean and Gordon, the hosts. The B & B is adjacent to the Fort Hill area, which has easy walking trails and stunning views of Nauset Marsh. The location of the B & B has easy access to just about anything we wanted on our Cape getaway. The breakfasts were great and the hosts always helpful accommodating. We highly recommend Fort Hill B & B and we plan to visit again.

What a gem! Many thanks to innkeepers Jean and Gordon for being so warm and welcoming. Their attention to every detail at the B&B was evident and appreciated. My husband and I spent 3 nights in the Emma Suite at the end of July. It was very spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated with antiques and spotlessly clean. A full, scrumptious and beautifully displayed breakfast in the dining room was a wonderful way to start each day. The walks from the B&B are not to be missed; stunning views, and oh so serene.

We wanted a quiet place to sit and read. Thoreau included Eastham in a series of lectures on Cape Cod given in the summer of 1855. The book contains the careful attention to detail and love of the natural landscape one expects to find in his work, but there is a snarky humor which delighted his audiences in the Concord Lyceum and horrified the Calvinist readers on Putnam's Monthly. The religious intolerance which piqued Thoreau was gone entirely by the time of our visit. Our hosts were Graciousness and Consideration and the fare was Ambrosia. We are a shy couple accustomed to mumbling over muffins. Here we rhapsodized about the architect Royal Barry Wills, dyslexia and military communication, and the virtues of suspenders manufactured by Perrys. We were simultaneously drawn out and filled up and sent blissfully on our way to First Encounter Beach, Marconi Station, and the Cape Cod National Seashore and Museum.

This is a late review as we stayed at fort hill last June. However it was very much deserving of an awesome compliment! So long story short, my boyfriend and I stayed in the Emma suite, which was a most elegant and luxurious, yet cozy space! Oozing with beautiful old charm while somehow maintaining a spotless modern feel... I especially loved the four poster bed, the deep soaking tub, and the flowering tree outside the bathroom window, as two out of four of our nights there (late June) were pretty chilly and perfect for a bath and cuddling! We had a blast studying the historical furnishings, old books and music in our room. The owners Jean and Gordon were so friendly and helpful while giving us complete privacy and free will. They had endless insider advice regarding the best beaches, restraunts for my shellfish allergy, and random local secrets. We ended up following most of their advise because they were so animated and descriptive it all sounded so tempting (and it's not like we had better ideas!) it definitely made our trip run so smoothly, and we discovered special things we would never have found otherwise! Jean consistently left yummy cookies for us to snack on after our late nights in from sunset watching. Breakfast is a story in itself, as Jean is a gourmet cook and baker for sure! The egg soufflé was our absolute favorite (I've tried to copy it at home unsuccessfully)!! Of course she has an herb garden outside the kitchen.. Nauset marsh is perfectly picturesque and a relaxing stroll from the Fort Hill driveway, and a whalers house sits across the road that is definitely worth a tour whether your a history person or not, the older gentleman giving the tour had an unforgettable sense of humor. The b&b is conveniently right between coast guard beach and nauset beach, and Provincetown made for a nice afternoon trip for a whale watch. All in all a romantic and inspiring place, so much so on our last morning there we got up early to see the sunrise on coast guard beach and my boyfriend (now fiancé) took the opportunity to propose!!!!! Needless to say our stay was wonderful and we would return again.

My wife and I have spent long weekends over the past two summers with Jean and Gordon at the Fort Hill B&B and each were just terrific. The location is central making access to all parts of the Cape a breeze. From the inn there are great views of sea and marshlands and as it is secluded, our stays provided the quiet we were looking for. We stayed in the Emma room and have been delighted at having a library in addition to bedroom and bath, all of which were very comfortable and spotless. Jean and Gordon are exceptionally gracious and accomodating and we always looked forward to delicious breakfasts and conversation before heading out for the day. Both of our hosts were able to offer bountiful information about the Cape and were very helpful when we were planning our days. We would provide our highest recommendation for the Fort Hill B&B and look forward to returning in the future.

My husband & I have stayed at Fort Hill B&B 11 years in a row. When we plan our annual trip, we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else on the Cape. After traveling across the country from Seattle, we treasure our time there. We've stayed in the Emma & Lucille suites & the cottage. Over the years, we've come to prefer the spaciousness & privacy of their Nantucket Cottage.Jean & Gordon go out of their way to make our week extraordinary. Both are very generous with their hospitality, knowledge of the Cape, recommendations of all sorts, treats from their garden, & personal touches for us & our daughter. Jean's breakfasts are a feast for the body & soul, & Gordon's close attention to so many other details is just right. As a customer service expert, my husband knows what it means & what it takes to go the extra mile. And so do Jean & Gordon because they do just that.

Staying at Fort Hill Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful experience in all respects. It is in a charming, historic home within the National Seashore on Cape Cod. The inn keepers are charming and great hosts. They are both long time Cape Cod residents and very helpful and knowledgeable. Fort Hill is in a great location, being close to the best hiking and sight seeing, most interesting towns and best restaurants. We definitely plan to return.

We recently returned for a repeat visit to the Fort Hill B&B, and enjoyed ourselves so much that we intend to make it an annual tradition. You really cannot ask for much more in a B&B: tastefully appointed, peaceful surroundings, and above all, your warm and gracious hosts Jean and Gordon. They are an integral part your experience, and the inn itself feels intrinsic to this beautiful natural area - it is as if both innkeepers and inn have always been here, and always will be.
