Last July, I had the pleasure of staying at the Faraway MV and can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The Faraway staff went above and beyond to make my visit memorable. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly stood out. The check-in process was swift, and I was pleasantly surprised by an unexpected room upgrade, showcasing the hotel's generosity and dedication to guest comfort. The room itself was a haven of luxury and cleanliness. The tasteful decor, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful amenities created a soothing ambiance. The attention to cleanliness and hygiene was evident throughout the hotel.I recommend the Faraway and plan on returning.

Pillows are horrible so definitely bring your own. Location ,staff and over aesthetic is fantastic. The bohemian vibes are odd since it’s on Martha’s Vineyard. Feels like someone that has never been to the island decorated it. Pool and hot tub are great and the outside bar is cute. You can not beat the location! I do want to highlight the staff. Absolutely wonderful people. Everyone from the room cleaners to the front desk to everyone I came into contact with was just delightful.

I would definitely return. Service was very personable. Rooms have a lot of character. Definitely recommend rooms with kitchenettes.

Had the most wonderful weekend getaway with some girl friends in early December!! Relaxing, quiet, and beautifully lit for the holidays. We stayed at the Chappy House which had an amazing back porch and view. Beds were the most comfortable thing I’ve ever slept in. Could not recommend this place enough. Be sure to meet Keneshia, she was SO polite, welcoming, and helpful during our stay!

Haven’t stayed and won’t stay.I’ve stayed there about 30 times in the last 20 years. Since the recent purchase by Faraway, the rates have doubled or tripled. Great news! In the past two days, I received an email offering 30% off. Not so great news, it’s only available until closing in early December. Worse news. All dates are already booked prior to receiving the offer. Might as well have offered 100% off. Because I am a direct descendant of the original owners in 1742, I always felt like it was a special place to stay. I built friendships with employees from the hotel to the Newes. I guess I’ll chalk it up to “Thanks for the memories”.Faraway responded and suggested I call. I did. No help at all. Finally I found an available room in May for 989 a night. (2019 I paid $189 a night) I applied the promo code for cyber Monday. It doesn’t qualify. Disgusting what has been done to the old Kelley House.

My sister and I decided to spend one night of our New England getaway on the Vineyard. I did a Google search and booked without reading any reviews. Can I tell you we were blown away? The scent in the air (proprietary formula LOL) was so fresh and it pulled us in. The lobby is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. The decor was so home-like and it was relaxing. When we got to the room, we were more delighted. The room was SOOOOOO COMFORTABLE. I did not want to leave. The staff was AMAZING! EVERYONE at the front desk was delightful, helpful, and eager to please. I read a few of the reviews (after the fact) that mentioned the staff was not nice. That was not my experience.I highly recommend you stay here when you visit. You will not be disappointed, I assure you. One final note, they had this lotion and bath product that smelled AMAZING, so much so, I bought three bottles of the lotion!I will be going back!

Over the top, but if you can afford it, it's the place to be for Martha's Vineyard.

The location is at the heart of Edgartown Martha Vineyard, right next to the ocean. Everything you need is close by. The view from the balcony is everything you ever wished for. The service was really and i really like that the hotel is pet friendly. The front desk is available 24/7 and is always at your disposale. I liked that whenever i asked them for something they immidietly provided me that. The menager is really nice and gave me early check in without a problem. While the other hotels in marthas that i stayed were great this in my opinion is kinda nicer. They are on a different level.

We booked a last minute trip to Faraway Martha's Vineyard and we're so glad we did. The staff is helpful, the hotel is newly renovated, rooms are spacious and the pool is also great! The location of the hotel is a 1 minute walk to the ferry super convenient for those with little kids. They also had a pack a play ready (which I'd emailed the hotel prior to checking in) all in all, everything was wonderful. My husband dropped his phone and keys in the lobby and they were able to retrieve them and ship them to us the next day :) we will definitively be coming back.

Got to this hotel for a job, when I arrived seeing me and my coworker were in our regular clothes we received funny looks to start when we provided our information for the rooms.Well both he and I went to get food to come back to see what could be done before the job. We got the idea to go swimming while unfortunately the pool was overcrowded by kids jumping in and we decided to wait but we could enjoy the weather to talk for a while. Hanging out minding our business when people there immediately stared at us both and sent the staff over to see if we're supposed to be there.Mind you, I didn't see the staff bothering any of these people like me and my coworker were while we were relaxing before the job. To be honest it was bothering us even more that we couldn't get treated the same way as some of the rich guests that were there that apparently couldn't mind their business. It was both of our first time out to Martha's Vineyard and we couldn't say we enjoyed it.Wouldn't mind if everyone had gotten verified to be there and not just us. Cause we both witnessed it and it was actually degrading us for how we look.As for the rich guests acting like douches I can't put my rating on that because no rating goes for the douches that act better than anyone else but for this hotel I give 1 star, the place was a beautiful stay but toxic behavior ruined it all for me. The staff should have made sure they knew we belonged there instead of just ousting us and going on their way. Next time, tell them not to bother other guests if they aren't bothering you. It brings bad attention. Not to mention calling for room service, the phones didn't even work. Which was kind of hard when I had to use my own phone to call for room service. When I got to my room I had found that the personalized TV message was rather cool but my coworker didn't get that luxury which was also bothering me.

We were so excited to see the new changes after being taken over from the Kelley House(which we loved and miss) but found the Faraway extremely underwhelming for the overinflated nightly rate of $1400+ per night…higher than the Harbor View rates!! There is no in room mini fridge, coffee station, robe, or slippers provided. The shower looks like it belongs in a motel…or gym bathroom, it’s just an open alcove with a curtain rod/shower curtain. There is limited drawer storage, and the clothing rod in the closet is literally only 4ft above the floor so your clothes are pooling on the floor. There is a $50 bike rental fee…bikes are complimentary at the Harbor View. The decor is mediocre at best, and the room did not appear to have been vacuumed prior to our checking into it. We inquired about potentially checking out early, and were informed there is a no cancellation policy and we would would be charged the full rate. The front desk clerk did offer to ask the manager for the possibility of providing a credit for a future stay…. No Thank you!! The pool and cabana area are lovely and beautifully designed and the Pelican is a chic outdoor restaurant/bar however this is a 3 star hotel at best commanding 5 star rates. This is not in the same league as the Harbor View, they need to lower their price point accordingly or they won’t be in business in Edgartown for long.Walkability: Great location to all the restaurants and shops

Enjoyed two nights here this past week and I was blown away by the new space (The Faraway brand recently renovated Kelly House )The main entrance and lobby are a work of art in of themselves. The vibe is modern and sexy and the intoxicating scent when you walk in will stay with you. Location in town can't be beat! The rooms are clean and modern with lots of attention given to design / linens/ bath products etc. The basic room is HUGE and there was more then enough space to make the three of us comfortable . Apple TV in the room was a bit finicky, but once running it was nice to have access to Bravo /HBO :-)The service was incredible both in the Hotel and the adjoining Restaurant The Pelican Club . Special shout out to Rebecca Johnson and LeighAnne McDonald in the Hotel and Justin Gonzalez at The Pelican Club for checking in on my family and making sure we taken care of !!!Front desk staff was personable , professional and seemed to enjoy working with us to provide some recommendations around town . My son and I sat In the lobby for a while and enjoyed some of their photography books which was a nice way to wait the rain out. Our only suggestion would be to perhaps add a water / tea / coffee service to the lobby experience for guestsThe pool and hot tub area are immaculately maintained and there was more than enough seating for everyone with extra space to spare. The snack shack at the pool came in handy for poolside treats :-))Overall - this is a fantastic boutique hotel with an excellent location , a GORGEOUS DESIGN and a staff that truly seems committed to their guests' well being! I'm so glad Faraway is here to make us feel like we're home !!

It was opening week, but we had a pretty bad experience here. Things poorly installed, restaurants closed without letting us know prior, no way to get food in room. But the worst part is I haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone to share this feedback. Phone calls that direct me to email. Email forms and social media messages have been ignored. So I’m leaving a review here in hopes someone might finally reach out. We have some thoughts. It’s too bad because the aesthetic and location were gorgeous.
