Fair, respectful and gruffly funny, sorta like Santa after he fought in the war. After working with him for almost 30 years I'll tell you that he never overcharges. You never have heart failure when you see the bill. Do yourself a favor and check him out. You might actually be glad that you need new brakes!”

“This shop does it all , I was told by another shop giving my car an oil change that my cv joint was worn out, but as the mechanic at R&S looked, it was in good shape. They found my strut was basically unattached, and the other side wasn't much better. I also found out they deal in tires. Unfortunately, I had mine put on somewhere else. Next time, I'll be going to R&S for tires, too

“It was a very unfortunate thing to have Dave be my first “mechanic” experience. After a few trips around the block, I now understand how special he is, and I have been stuck buying Saabs ever since. After having Dave fix my first Saabs I believed that any repair could be done in less than 2 hours and that it was customary to observe and ask questions of mechanics, stooping underneath your car with them and asking what everything was and why such and such was where and what it did. I later learned in the city that this is not common practice, instead you drop off your car, they won’t even let you watch them work, or ask any questions. Instead they do some little thing or replace a part you can do your self in under an hour and then charge you 3k for doing it over the course of three weeks. Most of the time they don’t even do this right. They replace the clutch but leave the dished fly wheel which costs you 3 clutches until you bring it back to Dave and he makes it right in under two hours.”

“It was like 3 days before Xmas when my cars front right break caliper was falling off because a bracket bolt fell out and using another car within the last hours after having no luck at auto zone oreilys and fastnal, I ripped there so fast and was lucky to pull a bolt off a VW in the yard. When I went to pay feeling blessed to find this bolt lol they said merry Xmas and refused to take my money. Literally thank God for brookside auto parts”
