HE RUINED MY MARBLE. HE DOES NOT STAND BEHIND HIS WORK ... Three years ago, Colonial installed a 6-foot-long X 9-inch-high white marble counter in my kitchen. It is the first thing you see when you enter our open living space. After he installed it, there was a dark uneven-edged, 2-inch-high stain along the entire length of the mitered edge, as if water had seeped into the marble. He came to look at it and said "that happens sometimes" because the glue seeps into the marble. Huh? That happens sometimes? To try to fix it, he applied a product called "enhancer," and - like the name says - it enhanced the 6-foot-long stain!! I mean, the stain got darker! I called him numerous times to resolve the issue, but he did not return my calls. ... I called three other marble companies to ask if they could fix it. They said that it could not be fixed. They said he used the wrong glue - that there are new glues that do not seep. ... I've covered most of the length of the counter with attractive bottles because this stain is an eyesore. To replace the counter could cost $3,000. I wish I had taken him to court just so I could have replaced the marbe. It is probably too late now. There are a lot of marble installers out there. Ask for recommendations and references.
