Do not recommend!!!Due to complications with the condominium insurance, our previous bank did not approve the loan and we were recommended to MJ Mortgage.From the first day we spoke to Marcio, we explained that we are not desperate for the house and would not want to pay really high points to get a lower interest rate. Many times we told him, that if it’s going to be high mortgage points, it’s better to not proceed further. We were open to higher interest rates (approximately 0.25%-0.5% higher but with no points), but we were never offered it.He told us that he had applied to a different program which would lower our points, which also kept us from bailing on this loan.Suddenly, we were surprise by indeed, lower mortgage points, but then unexpected broker fees (a very high amount that was never mentioned to us). The total ended up being the same amount that we had mentioned to him that we would not pay in the first place.At this point it was too late to back out (because the bank had approved the loan, and now we were at risk of losing the deposit that we gave to the sellers) or to look for a different bank.It was very difficult to get in touch with him, and many questions are still unanswered. I sent him several emails and never got a response. Shows how unprofessional he is.Do a thorough research, so you do not get screwed with points and broker fee like we did.
