I went to harbor freight today, looking to buy a replacement screw, electrical connector, and several tools I needed for my brand new ebike I purchased the night before. I planned on spending roughly 100 dollars.
When I entered the building and asked the cashier where the items would be located, before answering my question she told me I had to leave my bike outside. I explained to her that I wasn't sure what size I needed and there were several choices, I was told I still needed to leave the bike outside. I told the girl I just paid 1400 dollars for it and forgot to bring my bike lock and I had no intention of leaving it unattended. I asked if she could get her supervisor because I was sure she would help me. The cashier gave me some b.s. excuse about how a supervisor was not available. Finally I asked if I could several sizes of the screws outside quickly to make sure I had the correct size (each screw was around 8-12 CENTS! each) and was told no I could not do that. I asked if I could leave a dollar deposit which more than covered the cost... can't do that either, I was told however I could purchase them and return the wrong size provided I had my receipt.
So I decided to thank the cashier for her time which must be extremely valuable since she was unable to help me in anyway, And informed her that she can tell her manager I am going to spend the 150 bucks or so at ace hardware, the employess went above and beyond to help me, oh yeah and I caught a few great sales as well.

Can almost always get a decent deal on something at Harbor Freight. There's some things I buy that I don't need to spend crazy money on so Harbor Freight comes in clutch. This is only my 2nd or 3rd time visiting this location and I will say the floor plan and organizing of this location is not great. Everything is just scattered and in random areas instead of having all similar items grouped together. That's my only complaint really is that you have to walk every isle sometimes to find what you're looking for because it's not with other items like it. Only other thing I didn't care for was how narrow the isle were so when it's busy or you have a shopping cart, it's extremely difficult to navigate the store and isles. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is easy to get to with plenty of parking.

I had a defective small compressor that couldn't hold air for no more then a minute. Went to exchange and explained the issue. Manager said there is a restock fee. It's junk. I asked for store credit, nope. What a scam. I bought hoses for a sub pump. Clerk said it was the right size, but did not fit. They sell junk. They also said that you have any issues with it, bring back and don't stress the receipt. The return was ridiculously difficult for the store clerk.

They hire the generation that doesn't realize - if there weren't customers, you wouldnt have a job. Female cashier asks if we need help, tell her what we're looking for she tells me they do not carry it there at all. Harbor freight website proves this is a lie (also was in stock) . Walked around for 15 minutes trying to find it, went back up front - young male cashier says "next customer in line" - I proceed to walk over (3 feet away) but was told sorry this man is first (another man who got out of the line he was in and was BEHIND ME) -Will never return to this store. going by the other reviews seems this is the usual. Hire better help, or train properly. I suggest ACE hardware for all your needs, or even walmart and thats a a hoot.

I asked for a certain item, and the employee gave a dirty look.. I felt horrible asking them to do their job.

This place is like an toy store to adults. You walk through the store and are amazed at the plethora of tools, power equipment along with so many accessories pertaining to DYI projects. The prices are very reasonable and won't break your budget. If you haven't visited a Harbor Freight, you should do yourself a favor and make the trip.
