Was referred by my real estate agent when I initially purchased my home. I did have one interaction that left a very sour taste with me. I got an email stating my insurance was to be canceled. That was off because I knew my mortgage company had mailed the check. I did my due diligence and made sure that the check was mailed. I waited to hear back from the agent that they received the check. Nothing. I reached out and was told that they received it days ago. It would have been a professional courtesy to let me know, especially after sending me an urgent email that my insurance was on the verge of cancellation. Recently I reached out to inquire about different rates, and asked to jump on a call to discuss. Was told that I’m getting the lowest rate. I reached out to another agent who was able to get me more coverage at a reduced price. My experience with this agent was blah at best. It wasn’t good and it wasn’t terrible it was ok. I don’t reach out to my agent frequently but I would like to be engaged and my questions fully answered when I do reach out.

Initially great to work with (pricing and communication), but time did not bear out after they closed their deal. If you want the cheapest insurance, than it can be found elsewhere. If you want insurance that actually covers real life claims, don't choose Lapointe either way. They did not provide quotes that fit our property's needs, audit changing insurance needs, keep track of claim results, or follow up over time. They referred me to deal directly with the insurer myself instead of helping as a broker. Essentially we were a regular customer for 5 years without Lapointe doing anything. They even facilitated retaliation for submitting claims on behalf of the insurer (complaint with Business Board of Regulation pending) without putting our interests first as customers. All things considering, I don't recommend and was disappointed in the end.

I was trying to switch my business to Lapointe but they refused to quote me unless I told them what I was paying with my current agency. It felt like buying a new car. Very disappointing.
