We had dinner at Avellino the evening before our vow renewal brunch at this restaurant group's Function venue, The Barn at Wight Farm. Six of us sat down to a wonderful meal of top quality appetizers and entrées served by a charming server named Elijah. I don't live in the area of Avellino so I probably won't be back before long but I do recommend this restaurant to you all. Enjoy!

Always a great meal! Love the bread with my Veal Parm! Can't beat the desserts!! Bartenders and wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable of all courses. Have sense of humor and are attentive. Our food runner, Taylor, was phenomenal!

My boyfriend and I had dinner here the other night and it was amazing. The food was delicious and our waiter was attentive and also seemed like he enjoyed his job. We will be back so soon!

We have dined at Avellino's many times over the years and usually love it. We have dined there on a few New Year's Eves and it was very good. This year was a disappointment. New Years Eve is our anniversary and this year was our 41st. We were seated immediately at our reservation time. Our sever was pleasant, however, it appeared they were very understaffed. It took several minutes for her to come take our drink order and even longer for them to be delivered. One of the drinks in our party was not even close to being made correctly and it took some time to get the server's attention to order something else. Two appetizers were ordered. Again, it was too long of a wait. Both were lukewarm at best and both sub par in taste. Two of the entrees were served hot and were enjoyed. However, the other two were not even warm. They were actually cold. My guess is that they were both made in advance and refrigerated. Understandable as it was NYE. However, they should have been heated appropriately. They were not at all. All in all it was a disappointing meal, which I can honestly say has never happened before. Not sure what happened, but it was not the dining experience we have always enjoyed at Avellino's - including on several holidays. I'm sure we will give Avellino's another visit, but it won't be for some time.

The restaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious. The waitress brought the wrong wine we ordered and wasn't out of her way to be friendly. But overall it was a good experience and I would definitely return!

Sturbridge is a halfway meeting point for our friends from Connecticut and us from Massachusetts so we are at Avelino a lot... It is our restaurant of choice in Sturbridge. Saturday night was extremely disappointing. It was very very busy. and shortstaffed. Service was extremely slow, took forever to get drinks. Was not our waitresses fault. She tried her hardest, I had the halibut and it was extremely salty... I think it was the mushrooms, but I did not eat it. They did take it off the bill so I appreciated that. But it was not the best dining experience. Very disappointing.

The food wasn't bad but my Marsala lacked flavor. It needed more Marsala flavor and seasoning. The arancini were the same, kind of bland. My husband's fish was good but the sides were lukewarm. Our waiter was amazing and the restaurant has a nice relaxing vibe.

Hostess and our waitress were superb, the wine glasses were stemless which we do not like, she found some with stems for us, ya! The menu is now less than fine dining, ( I guess it was changed a few weeks earlier.) I had thought there was a dress code but I guess no more, we had people in the room that looked like they just got done changing a car motor. The sauces were a bit below expectations (Marsella and tomato) 1 glass of wine was wrong, but corrected promptly. If it was up to me I would have decked out this fine restaurant with table cloths and upheld the real Italian menu they used to have. The staff made at a nice evening so that pushed up my review. We have been here about 25 times in the last 10 years, but there is change in the wind and it's time for us to take a break until this old girl returns to her former glory.

My nursing school graduated 50 years ago in June and we decided to get together and celebrate here. Best idea we could have had! The food is fantastic, the staff is awesome and we had the best time reconnecting with one anther. If you love Italian food come here to eat.
