Extremely disappointed with customer service. I called to ask about engagement rings and see what the store had to offer. I was then asked what my profession was (I'm in EMS) and was met with, "I don't think you'll be able to afford our collections" in a condescending tone. The assumption that I'm unable to afford an engagement ring is asinine as they do not know what my financial situation is by one conversation over the phone. As a civil service member, it was very disheartening because I only want the best for my significant other.

Took my Tag here for a new battery. Told they don't do in house battery replacement any longer, so instead of the $20 charge I was quoted $135. Ok, well I guess. But three weeks go by and I get a voicemail. They now want $500 to "fix" my watch. Yea, I'm never going there again.

The staff is so kind and welcoming! I was able to find a really stunning anniversary gift for my husband and the woman who helped me was able to find just what I was looking for but also respected my budget. And they gift wrapped it so beautifully!

BUYERS BEWARE!! If there was a “zero stars” I would’ve selected it. The Framingham store sold me an uncertified diamond five years ago. Told me it was worth $47,500 (I paid over $40k), even provided an appraisal for the $47,500. The sales person, Jullie, told me I could always trade it in for the price I paid towards an upgrade. Well, not only will they not take it back on trade, but I brought it to two jewelers at the jewelers building in Boston who said it wasn’t worth more than $15,000. They laughed and said, Barmakian took you for a ride! Do not buy from them!!! They are sheisters! Stay away!!!

The jewelry there is very pretty but I wouldn't use their repair services. I had a 14k and jade bracelet there for 1 month to be reglued. I picked it up today and before I got home, it had fallen off me. Just to be clear, I was driving, not haying a field. They did refund this laughable repair after I called. Additionally, I had a pearl on a ring reglued. They called me 2 weeks ago to be sure if they added more gold to the pin that it was ok with me. Totally. I asked them to provide me with an insurance appraisal additionally and they agreed. When I picked up today (again, after a month) no appraisal. Come to find out, they no longer do appraisals for anything not purchased there. Would have be a great time to tell me that when I asked. One more thing. When you ask for your Barmakian purchased diamond (over $15k 12 years ago) to be cleaned, she puts it in the little jar of cleaner. Just like we have at home. So sad to see what was excellent service diminish to this point. Training and retraining repair people and repair desk help would be useful. We'll be taking our business elsewhere. Very disappointed. Edited to say thanks to Allie for responding but I won't be back. Regarding the cleaning I requested, I was actually seeing if they would do it since when I dropped off my repairs I asked and she literally dropped it in the sanitizer and handed it back to me. I called it polishing this time to make it different from how I asked last time and received the 'sanitization' only. Yes, I understand the polisher is on vacation, but perhaps the desk person should have said something like - "but I can steam clean it for you". But not offered. Generally put off by the service staff and then the failed repair was icing on the cake. If I had lost this very precious bracelet it would have been your fault, but I would be without recourse. Too little too late. Recommend better training for your staff. Maybe less opulent setting and nicer people. This review remains at 1 star.

Very rude customer service. I spoke to two women and both their interactions with me were rude and dismissive. I absolutely do not recommend this store and I will not be using them for any future jewelry needs.

My fiancé had such a wonderful experience working with Murat to help build my ring. He was diligent, patient with the process - all around our customer service experience with them was top notch and we certainly would work with them again for all our jewelry needs.

I visited with my girlfriend (now fiancé) months ago to get a general idea of what she liked for an engagement ring. Kristin was extremely helpful in getting us introduced to a few stylistic options. Once I had an understanding, I went back by myself and met with Joe. He went through in tremendous detail the difference between various shapes of diamonds, and spent the time necessary to make sure I understood all of the different gradings involved. We went through a number of diamonds they had in store, using different lighting and vantage points to highlight the important characteristics. When we didn’t find exactly what I wanted, he directed me to the enormous catalog of available diamonds on the Barmakian website. I went home and found one I loved, told Joe and he immediately had it shipped to their location for me to come and view. Joe helped design a custom setting and once we landed on that correct stone everything fell into place. The ring was completed and shipped earlier than their provided estimate and the final product was spectacular. Joe was an enormous help, and Barmakian certainly lived up to their stellar reputation. Thanks for making the entire process simple and relatable, with no pressure or pushy sales tactics throughout. It was a refreshing experience after having visited a few jewelers in the past. We’ll be back for our wedding bands!
