We do love the place - but they had no usable “how to” manuals like they used to for sewing cloths … they used to have a whole DIY section … that was missed. Still we love our HL!

My first visit and the most beautiful one. This place is a heaven for craft lovers. So many options and themes you can choose from. The concept is wonderful. Would love to visit again!

Update - I went in at 1:45 on a Friday afternoon (today) 11 people in the checkout line (singular) going 1/3 of the way into the store aisles. I left my item on one of the 5 unmanned checkouts as I left. An early weekday afternoon and the line was that deep! I actually put forethought into timing the visit when I did because of previous experience with long lines and only 1 or 2 open registers...perhaps I should read my own reviews...
Clean and organized. Prices are VERY good and at their worst - still Fair - but what is your time worth?
Good selection but it us a barren wilderness if you collect sports cards, books or comic books. Very little or none on supplies, products, protection or storage solutions (well, they do sell books and bookshelves, but no serious book restoration items or individual protection).
Lots of fun stuff otherwise and I've discovered things to help me in other situations - like a needle to feed a Waistband through shorts and a strap through my girlfriends American Flag bikini just in time for summer. I was surprised I could not find any Patriotic Stationary or notepads with only a month to go before July 4th; though they have a well stocked area of store with almost everything else red-white or blue - just nothing to write a simple to-do list or thank you note on. Staff is awesome - certainly the folks who I've seen regularly past 3 years and I assume the newdies will get more knowledgeable too. Management knows every inch of store and will stop in their tracks to help a guest and vent friendly. There's a couple great ones who have helped me a couple times.
So why 3 Stars? Guess _____
The Lines EVERY TIME, ANY DAY, ANY TIME OF DAY. YOU CANNOT GET OUT IF THE STORE! Iregularly spend more time I line than I do shopping. It is agony. So - now I go as I frequently as possible. I order online from other places even though it is less than 5 minutes from my house.
They've no respect for my time, so I just no longer go (probably costing this store conservatively $1500 In just my lost sales in the past 18 months). I cannot abide the absolute minimum number of cashiers (1) unless you ask them to open another lane. Which they do but I hate being the only one to ever ask. Multiply that by many other folks I'm sure.
I just went there again as I just needed some kraft stationary - spent more time in line that going to the car, to far end of store, and to register (looking at a few other things) than the line came again and it was not even lunchtime nor was store busy (which it often is)
Just count on the bare minimum registers open no matter how many people are working, and picture Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Burlington, Homegoods, Framingham Walmart, (all which I avoid unless absolutely necessary in this area) check-out wait times -ALL THE TIME, EVERY DAY AND TIME OF DAY. If you like being treated like cattle when trying to just get on to your next errand or home, or have nothing better to do with your day - you'll love this place because the rest of the store is ABOVE STANDARD.
I almost gave 4 stars because I love the fact they respect Sunday as a day for God, family, country and rest - especially for their employees which I greatly admire, especially in the retail world. Their lines over 50+ visits in 3 years - I know what I'm talking about with this sample size drop it to 3 stars.

Going to a store with all my supplies is great but seeing how the prices aren't much better than online made me wanna think again on going to the store again. It has a variety if you MUST have it right away, and that is the only reason I'd go back. Other than that very personal reason, the store is clean, stocked and has a lot to look at.
