VENDORS BEWARE: STONE INC DOES NOT PAY
As of January 9, 2024 I have personally tried to contact the owner Marc Mallegni over a dozen times regarding an open balance of $4,350. I spoke to Christine (showroom manager) and John (fab shop manager), both reassured me they would forward the messages. I am certain they did.
I've also had sales reps visit both locations (multiple times) in an attempt to collect.
As a last resort, I offered to resolve the matter by returning the material (free of charge) but of course the material is not available because it was sold, cut and installed. None of which would happen without Stone Inc having been paid for the job. There is no reason for an open balance.
If you are a vendor, do NOT accept checks from Stone Inc.
Based on my experience, I can assure you all checks will bounce due to Non Sufficient Funds.

We just used Stone Inc for our second project: a bathroom remodel. The granite we selected from their Marlborough warehouse was the cornerstone of the project. John Nunamaker at their Marlborough location was always helpful and accommodating. They were working with a design-build company with whom they had never collaborated. John was responsive to the other team as well as us and the end result was spectacular! In addition, they created a unique shelf around our new induction stove which fits perfectly! Though we do not have any projects anticipated in the near future, I would not hesitate to use Stone Inc again.

Our initial experience with Stone **** was positive: the salesperson we worked with devoted an exceptional amount of time with us, and we were extremely happy with the product we selected. However, most of our subsequent experience has been disappointing. First, it was extremely hard to get updates on the delivery of our order. Stone **** apparently doesn't have a centralized ordering system, so getting an update would require whoever we spoke with to check with others by email, so it would take time. We had booked our installer based on the expected delivery time, so when delivery slid out I had to make several calls to get clarity on how and when I could get the product. I ended up having to drive to their warehouse, where their employee griped to me about how much time he'd had to spend dealing with our order. We wound up with a spare box of tile, so I brought it to the store in late July. The salesperson told us that she couldn't process the return, so she would need to wait till their accountant returned to the office. More than five weeks have lapsed since we were told that, and we haven't heard anything. Finally, I want to ****** on the store itself. They have an amazing selection of tile samples from which to choose, but in all my visits to the store I have yet to see another customer there. Maybe as a result, it's normal to come into the store and see no one at counter -- usually someone eventually descends the stairs to the showroom from an upstairs office. One morning I came entered the store ***** minutes after they opened -- again, no one was at the counter, but there was a man about 30-years old who was sleeping on the showroom floor. He roused himself, dashed out, and only then did a salesperson come to the counter. While we are pleased with the products we bought at Stone ****, we were disappointed by the lack of professionalism and especially the delay in processing our return.

Stone Inc. did granite countertops for our bathrooms 5 years ago and they still look great. We just had them do a big job installing granite countertops in our kitchen and sunroom. Christine was always quick to respond to my questions and explained the process thoroughly. The countertops came out great and they did a professional, quality job. There was one incident where the refrigerator handle was damaged when they were moving the refrigerator back into position. Mark was great and ordered a new handle for us right away. I highly recommend them and will be using them to install wall tile for our kitchen too!Service: Worktops

Stone Inc is a great company. I was a bit hesitant because the ratings were not ideal. However they were an amazing one stop shop for my countertops and backsplash. Christine was amazing to work with. The #1 thing I value is communication. Jobs always have an issue or delay - that's fine, its reasonable to expect them. However, I want to be made aware of any issues. That said, there was minimal disruption and HIGH quality installation. I am VERY pleased with the work that they did. I will be using them again in the future without question.Service: Worktops

Worked with this company before and the owner Mark is a liar and a thief. The people in the showroom are also very rude and don’t really know what they are talking about. Terrible service.

I am a designer that has done a lot of business with Stone Inc both for my customers and my own house. The quality is always top of the line, they are always on time and have product that nobody else has. Have used for counter tops, sinks, floors, could not recommend more. We recently updated our house, including the kitchen and bathrooms. I visited Stone Inc in Framingham to explore types and patterns of countertops. I was so lucky to work with Christine Defazio in coordinating the colors for my kitchen and bathrooms. Christine has an excellent eye for bringing all of the pieces together! She patiently listened to my preferences and questions, tried various tile and granite samples, and she immediately found the best fit for my kitchen! Similarly, she matched a beautiful quartz soapstone for my bathrooms! I couldn’t be happier with the choices!Throughout the whole process of selection, ordering, measuring, and installing, Christine stayed in contact to be sure of my satisfaction. I felt confident that we had chosen a professional, competent, and responsive company to do the work. I highly recommend Stone Inc as an option for your countertop needs!

5 stars for excellent templating by Marcus. 5 stars for John answering all emails within a day and all voice messages within an hour. 5 stars for workmanship. 2 stars for promptness. They were 2 hours late for templating and 8 hours late for counter installation. I almost gave them 1 star when I thought they weren't going to show up. The lateness was not a huge problem, but the lack of update during the lateness was.

Terrible customer service. The company installed quartz countertops but the sealant started cracking in couple of months. Talked to a manager John P., asked for a remedy. He did not return the call for 10 days, then finally when I reached him scheduled a technician to come and re-do the caulking. Waited for technician for 3 hours, then called John P. again who basically withdrew the promise to provide this small service under warranty. When I told him that it was inconsiderate to keep me waiting for 3 hours he simply ignored. Stay away - horrible company. How they are even still in business?

The people in the showroom are very rude and mean. They actually made me cry and ruined my excitement at remodeling our bathroom. Apparently our sale wasn’t as profitable as someone who came in after us who was doing a kitchen. They yelled at me for requesting prices on too many samples. I would never go here again.

I had awful dealings with Mark Mallegni at his other companies. He stole money from me and refused to return my refundable deposit. Look up his name online and see all the lawsuits against him and the companies he owns. Do not do any business with this crook.
