I visited the shop last week for the first time. It is in Topsfield near the fairgrounds, and is definitely more of a “boutique” consignment/second hand experience vs. thrift.

As I said my only deduction was RE the pricing. Some lower end labels were, in my opinion, priced quite high. Like many consignments the price does drop after a period of time, but you have to roll the dice it will still be there if you wait. That said, I found their high end items very well priced for the most part.

The highlight was absolutely the curated nature of the store. I’ve been in so many thrift/consignment stores lately that have high prices but do not make an effort to really focus on the customer experience.

At Francie’s (the owner I assume) has an eye for putting together a display, and naturally grouping items that go together really well. The store is well stocked but NOT overpacked with items like so many places that make it impossible to look through or browse. I especially loved that they had a fun vintage section on its own, beautiful purses, etc.

As a woman with BIG feet (size 10) I *SO* appreciate that Francie’s had options for me to try! 9/10 vintage/consignment I visit rarely have anything above an 8. This shop had beautiful Frye boots etc- not for me that day but perfect for someone. I also noticed that they had a very good selection of plus size clothing, especially coats- which is often very difficult to find second hand.

I also had a brief chat with the owner (I think) and she was lovely. There was another woman browsing and she was very quick to offer to take an item off a mannequin etc. I believe there is a gift or children’s section on the other side but I didn’t get a chance to go over that day.

Overall I will certainly be back- lots of gems. Would love to see slightly lower pricing on the more mass market brands but it was a very pleasant visit.”

“A favorite shop to visit when I go downtown. Very friendly and welcoming staff, fun and comfortable clothes and accessories. I am a fan of loose, airy cotton and linen clothing and they have a really good inventory, and range of sizes. I haven't been yet for their trunk and fashion shows but I hear they are fun!”

“Great prices, a lot of the clothing still has original tags on it but you pay a fraction of the price , it’s not like some second hand stores where everything looks like it would appeal to a nun or. An 80 year old women- lol, there is also a lot of variety so it can appeal to a wide variety of styles - for example my mom find clothes she likes there - but no offense as much as I love my mom I wouldn’t wear her clothes out in Public unless I was paid a large sum of money - I also shop there and find clothes I love that my mom wouldn’t be caught dead in- so really it doesn’t matter how you dress there is something for everyone and the prices are great! The staff is also very kind and friendly- my clothes got stolen a while ago ( long story) but until I went here and began replacing them I was walking around in hand me downs that were old and baggy and everyone would treat me like I was a thief when I went shopping ( like they thought I was shoving items into my ugly outfits -not the case I had no other clothes ! Cvs even called the police on me and after a 3 hour nightmare let me go because they couldn’t find any stolen merchandise in my pants - car -shirt etc - because there was none I don’t shoplift) the first time I went in this store I looked like a complete fruit loop as I was there to replace my clothes on. A budget- not one time did the staff make a rude comment or follow. Me through the store asking can I help you over and over again when what they mean is can I help you leave the store by making you uncomfortable ?- they were very helpful when asked but they do not harass anyone- they even chased my mom 2 blocks down the street to return a credit card to her that she forgot when she paid. I love this store I would recommend it to anyone who wears women’s clothing!”
