“Booked this last minute to celebrate my sister’s birthday. The location is absolutely perfect. It’s away from downtown, quiet, and has a gorgeous pool! The front desk staff were super friendly and welcoming, the cookies were absolutely delicious. The seating outside the room was perfect and had a gorgeous view of the pool and ocean.”
“A Charming Stay at Smith Cove – Room 8 is a Must!
We had a wonderful stay at this little hotel right on Smith Cove in Gloucester, MA. We were in Room 8, and I highly recommend it!
The room itself was simple but very charming—bright and all white, even the ceilings, which made it feel very clean and fresh. The exposed beams gave it a unique, cozy character. The bathroom was also beautifully done.
One of the highlights was the private balcony right on the water. It had a small table and chairs, perfect for sitting outside and watching the sunrise—it was truly stunning and peaceful.
The only downside was that the windows were a bit dirty when we arrived. As a professional window cleaner from Central Oregon, I couldn’t help myself—I cleaned them up! The beautiful French pane windows deserved it, and the view is now absolutely breathtaking.
If you're considering staying here, I’d definitely recommend asking for Room 8. The location, the charm, and that view with clean windows make it a special spot on the cove.

“We recently stayed for 2 nights. It was a lovely hotel, great nautical decor, delicious restaurant on site. Really enjoyed the indoor hot tub and pool area. Beautiful views from the balcony outside our room. The staff was so nice to us. Highly recommend and we would definitely stay here again!”
