My cousin had a very upsetting visit recently at the deli of this Stop & Shop. We believe the clerk's name is Dan. My cousin has a very tight budget and asked for a quarter pound of a pre-made deli item. In front of a ton of other customers, this j*** yelled out, in a sarcastic, sing-song tone, "ONLY a quarter pound???" repeatedly, looking at and egging on other customers to join in on humiliating my cousin for their small order. Another thing is, he didn't wear gloves. Even though he was filling a container and not touching the food directly in this case, it still seems unhygienic and maybe the health department should look into the practices they are engaging in at this store. Including -- even worse, clerks in this department are sometimes picking up food with their hands instead of a spoon because "it's easier that way." GROSS! And they need to be wearing hair nets or tying their back if they have long hair! Ughhh! One more thing, the guy, Dan, kept doing the sign of the cross and repeating, "Only a quarter pound." How many other people does he treat abusively and unprofessionally like this? Elderly? Handicapped? Unacceptable and needs to be addressed. In the meantime, honestly, I consider him lucky that I only visit Gloucester and don't live there, because if I ever caught him in the act treating customers this way, I'd want to give him a taste of his own medicine!
