I took my parents here for lunch. The grounds and clubhouse are as beautiful in person as depicted online so one would assume the tavern experience would be comparable. Unfortunately not so. As my family and I were looking at our menus our waitress handed us a long list of items from the menu that were not available that day. The entrees my husband and I wanted were not available. The appetizers we wanted were not available. I have been to restaurants where they ran out of one item, but not half the menu! I settled for a chicken caprese sandwich on a "pressed roll". It came on a large slab of hard focaccia-like bread. The filling was skimpy and the chicken rubbery. The portions of wine were a little stingy. Service was ok. Fries were good. Overall a subpar experience so we will not be returning.

Loved the course, played 18, and the last 5 holes were challenging due to the rain. But I had a good time with good friends.

Very nice course with well maintained fairways and tee boxes, greens could use some attention but are fast. Steve in the pro shop was very helpful. The pro shop is well stocked and there are many gloves, putters, and other clubs. Bunkers are well maintained as well and raked very well. For going on a day it was raining, the course drained well except the side of the green on 2 and 11 the two downhill par three’s.

Very mixed feelings after playing for the first time today (8/9).The good. Well manicured property. Tees, fairways and rough are all in great shape. Clubhouse was in great shape.Interesting layout. Some decent elevation change, and some funky holes but overall it’s a fun layout. Here’s what I wasn’t pleased with. The staff wasn’t very friendly. Both the guy in the proshop and starter. Starter was barking for us to get off the practice green 11 minutes before our tee time. The greens were also in borderline terrible shape. They’ve not done a good job controlling the moisture, and they’re trashed from spike and pitch marks. Curious why they aren’t tending to these items? Driving range is apparently very short. They don’t allow you to hit metal woods. Little frustrating. Would be nice to at least have a space to hit driver into a net or something. What really was massively frustrating was that it was cart path only. Was their rain yesterday? Some. Aside from the 8th hole, maybe approach of 11, and the par threes, the rest of the course was fine. Seemed to be in normal playing condition and no sign of water. Made for an excruciatingly long round, especially for anyone who’s disabled or is otherwise lucky to be playing due to their physical limitations. No need for that in my opinion. Would have been nice to know in advance.Hard to say if I’ll be back.

This place is a very good course no matter how you slice it. If shot variety is your thing, there's plenty of that. If holes that all look different is your thing, there's 18 of them. It's also got some nice views. This course isn't going to give you anything. It's fair enough till the wind blows. When it does you'll be glad you practiced your punch shots. Which reminds me, most greens are receptive to rolling it on, so somebody thought of that. Oh, you don't practice punch shots? Then what the heck are you doing? The greens are mostly large, but not all. Your approach game needs to be solid. And you can get around with a driver that's not all it should be, but it won't be fun. And aside from thoughtless players who don't fix ball marks, (maybe that's you?!?), the greens were in good shape and rolled true. Also of note, they keep the rough manageable. Long grass is hard to hit out of, and after about 3 inches, makes it hard to find your ball. Both of those slow play for golfers like us, it's nice they know that. Why only 4 stars? The abbreviated driving range is 1/2 star. No woods! And the practice green looks like an afterthought, another half star. It is not representative of the greens on the course, it's small and extremely tilted, so not much good for getting a feel for green speed on the course. I figure those two things cost me 4 or 5 strokes. So warm up before you get there and be ready for a fun course.

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. Went golfing there this weekend with 3 others and encountered some of the rudest employees I’ve ever seen anywhere. The starter was rude, it was cart path only, and the greens are not in great shape. But that’s not all! The ranger was incredibly rude & unprofessional. Was harassing us for several consecutive holes, even parking his golf cart behind a member of our group as they were hitting their ball on the green. Totally uncalled for. When asked by another member of the group why he did that, he angrily responded “that’s what rangers have to do sometimes”. This made for an absolutely miserable golf experience. Ownership/management should be absolutely embarrassed that they have people like this in customer-facing roles. In the corporate world, treating customers like that is grounds for termination. Judging by some of the other reviews on here, it seems as though some of the employees need a serious attitude adjustment. Will not be back and will never recommend.

Greens are in bad shape. I think it is ridiculous they are still charging a premium with the shape the greens are in. I normally enjoy this course and it is usually in great shape but this is the worst I’ve seen it. Hopefully next year the greens bounce back but I will not be returning again this year if the price is going to remain $85 with the way the greens are.

Golf course is well kept, no issues there, but the restaurant is a mess. Went to dinner there and the waitress came to us twice, once to take the order, once to gives the check, the whole time we set there, my wife's dinner the fish was raw in the middle, so we sent it back, meanwhile I'm eating my dinner while my wife watched, no apologies what so ever from anybody, by the time she got her dinner it was my time to watch her eat, I could've had another drink but the waitress wan no where to be found, I'll play golf there again but the restaurant will never see the color of my money!!!

Nicest public course in Central Massachusetts (my opinion). Always in fantastic shape, entire staff is extremely nice and accommodating and it's impossible to order a bad meal off the menu. These are the reasons I play there multiple times a month!

They seem to be losing focus on maintaining a 5 star rating, fixing divots repairing ball marks tees are getting beat up, gutters need replacing a power wash on clubhouse wouldn’t hurt painting parking lot, however I’ll be back

Course is in terrible shape. Many bare spots on the greens, tee boxes chewed up and not cared for. Not sure if there is a superintendent for this course or if they have just given up. Many nicer options in the area.

Great layout with an inviting first hole. The conditions were not what they used to be. There are many bare spots in the fairways. $85 at 3pm is too high for this course (the rate is the same all day riding or walking).

The course is always in tip top condition. Pace of play was very good which was a nice treat on a Sunday afternoon. Nothing worse than 5+ hour round. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were immaculate. My only negative is the Par 3's. 3 par 3's that play less than 125 yards each is unacceptable. 1 short hole is fine but 3 is no beunó. That why I gave it 4 stars. Hey Highfields....lengthen 2 of the Pars 3's 50 - 75 and then I'll give you 5 ⭐ 's.FORE RIGHT!!
