We've had several repairs done after a different mechanic in town closed his shop. We are very impressed with Apex - the folks are highly professional and knowledgeable. They take the time to evaluate the car carefully, alert us to other issues that may be developing. The repairs have been done promptly and at a fair price. A high level of care! We are loyal customers now.

I don't understand the negative reviews. Apex has always been extremely helpful, reliable, and trustworthy on my two vehicles and those of my elderly father in law. I can pay them no higher compliment than that I trust them.

Bob prioritizes clients he perceives as more lucrative, potentially at the expense of long-standing local customers. Apex Automotive, owned by Bob Holcomb, has garnered numerous complaints detailing a consistently negative customer experience. He's rude, condescending, and unprofessional, often turning away local customers for reasons such as car type, perceived lack of maintenance, or simply for questioning his diagnoses or pricing. Customers report instances of unauthorized work, inflated costs, and being yelled at or dismissed. The shop also maintains an unusual policy requiring vehicles to be dropped off for the entire day for services other than inspections, and their waiting lobby is closed. Furthermore, their dated website is noted as being unsecure. There are also assertions that vehicles frequently fail inspections at this establishment to overcharge for minor services or gradually accumulate small charges that result in a significant total cost. It's understandable for me to feel regret after a negative experience, especially when prior warnings were disregarded to give Bob the benefit of the doubt. After how I was treated I'm not sure how he's still in business.

As a mechanic and former Auto Shop owner, do not use this business.

Just had my breaks, oil change, and inspection completed here for the first time. Customer service was by far the best I have received at a mechanic in years. My car was returned to me in great condition and I will definitely return. Highly recommended.

I didn’t believe all the reviews about the rudeness, but it’s true. GB has lost some of the better mechanics in the past few years and sad that APEX is all that is left given their attitude towards their customers.

I’ve never dealt with such honest and professional mechanics in my life. I have been using them since I moved here almost 5 years ago and I’m so grateful to them and their services.

A very unpleasant experience overall. Owner would often be rude to me, despite my being a loyal customer. Culminated in being outright yelled at by owner over something that was his fault and decided I’d had it. Was a convenient location (which is why I stayed so long) but decided to take my business elsewhere. Now I go to a place I trust. A longer drive, but I am treated decently, and therefore I am much happier now.

I stopped by a couple months ago with a squeak in my brakes. The guy who came out suggested I get the car washed as it had been extremely hot and dry and it could be dust or a small stone. I made an appointment just in case, I then ran it through the car wash and the screech disappeared. I phone this guy and apprised him of this development and how impressed I was, he ended the call by telling me to call back and make an appt if the noise returned. I stopped by today because a plastic guard came loose and was dragging under the car. He told me to wait, which I did. After about 5 min he rushed out, used a flashlight to inspect the brakes, accused me of using them for a diagnosis and having the work done somewhere else, and no-showing for an appointment. I recounted in detail what happened, and that I HAVE NOT HAD MY BRAKES REPLACED! Also that I called to cancel the appointment, to which he accused me of lying and said he wasn’t going to repair my car and that I would never be welcome back. This was a horrible experience. I was so stunned that it took a while to reach the a level of anger. Being that intransigent, that unwilling to entertain the notion that you may be wrong belies some other underlying issues.

Word to the wise, these guys do good work, BUT, they WILL turn you away if they deem the problem with your vehicle not worth their time.
I got rejected following up a recommendation to get a tune-up from one of their technician's after a check engine code. Called to schedule an appointment and flat-out got rejected because of the code in question and the mileage of my car (150k+).
Also, when getting the car inspected a separate time, a rear seatbelt needed to be uncovered from the wheel well inside the vehicle in order to pass inspection. They said it would cost $300 and would take 2 hours. I took it to the dealer who sold me the car and he did it for free in 10 minutes.

As the reviews demonstrate, there seem to be two "Bobs". One is an excellent mechanic, polite and informative. The other is a miserable old man who is rude and dismissive, only wants to work on cars that don't need much work. I've met them both, and don't have time to waste wondering which one is going to appear. Won't be back

Believe the negative reviews and find someone else. Very rude and dismissive if you don't buy his rip off services. A step down from Jiffy Lube.

Don't ignore the negative reviews and find a different place to take your car. Today I brought my truck to be inspected. When it was done, he told me it would be 35 dollars, took my credit card, charged it, handed it back to me, and then told me never to bring my truck there again. I thought I misheard him so I asked him what he meant, and he said take it somewhere else. No explanation whatsoever. Definitely not someone who wants my business. Plus, I always thought it was odd that even post-mask mandates, even on days when it rains and its cold, they make you wait outside. Save your valuable time and go elsewhere.Service: Vehicle Inspection
