Steer clear. 1) Debit Card going through routine replacement--said valid till end of March. I'm in a supermarket at the beginning of March. The card is denied. I call Citizens -- 1 hour on hold on a Friday night. They say the card is denied because they've mailed me a new card. I didn't receive the new card --and the card I'm holding says it's valid to the end of the month. I ask them--what if I were on vacation and not even home to get the new card. S*** out of luck. 2) Hold times --aggregate for the year over 20 hours --yes 203) Account sometimes does security freezes and you're in the middle of trying to make a purchase or pay someone.4) The new ATMS in stop and shops--have video tellers. The lines to get funds can take 20 to 30 minutes as people chat with the teller. No privacy at these video ATMS. 5) I go to a branch at a Supermarket to replace a card--the 1800 customer service told me so. The branch says their machine is broken and they tell me to drive 30 minutes to go to the next branch with a working machine. 6) I go to set up a college savings plan for kids. The bank sets up the wrong type of account. Time wasted and an additional head ache. This is not quality banking--it's really doing stupid--I'm taking the brunt of my funds out and moving it to a big national. The bank was good 10-12 years ago and has gone down hill like a lead balloon.

Horrible horrible bank! Will not let me withdraw my money from my account because they suspect fraud! It's my money and they have no basis in the fraud suspicion! And they refuse to talk to me about it! I need a lawyer! Run! Don't walk away from the worst bank ever!

If u want the lady to constantly question u and be rude af about U taking UR money out of the bank, ur in the right place for banking. The ladies r rude and then defend their rude behavior. Its pathetic and they say its becuz other customers were rude to them beforehand. That's idiotic and unprofessional . Samantha needs a new job

I had a great experience with getting what I needed at this Branch. I needed a document notorized but forgot to set an appointment. They still got me serviced asap even though I forgot to do this. They also gave me advice to what was in the area as I just moved out here.Five Stars all around to the manager and the team here!

If u want awful customer service and attitude, bank here. The ppl r rude and unprofessional. They question u about why u wanna take ur money out of the bank and r super rude about it. They then defend their rude behavior and blame it on other customers who were rude to them. This is why I dont use banks in general. Our society has been brainwashed into thinking our money is safer with them than ourselves. When really it's a form of control. They can freeze ur money, charge u overdrafts again and again and u have no control. Bank with a credit union, ur better off, if u need a bank. If u do go here, good luck, b prepared to have ppl b rude

I dont trust them either. My auto deposit is deposited AFTER they auto deduct my auto payment. Hence a charge each mont of a 35 dollar NSF fee. I have spoken to corporate and the branch manager to no avail. In the process of going to my old bank. Have also notified the government in that my auto deposit is my SS income. Shame on you Citizens.

So very friendly, helpful and have great customer service. It was an easy welcoming experience to open and account there especially with the the help of Boston (that is his name) the bank attendant. I would definitely recommend this bank to a friend.

I do not trust this bank and I do not trust the manager at this branch, obviously would not recommend. I was misinformed by the branch manager about one of my investments and now I'm stuck. They told me the wrong information and won't budge on charging me fees. If I misheard the man I dealt with and there was a communication issue, at least he could have apologized, followed up, etc, but I had to do all the footwork and I felt there was no accountability. And now for my rant: Bunch of condescending white males and it gives me the creeps to look at them when I shop at Stop and Shop. Do any women work here? I haven't seen one woman at this branch. Then again, I wouldn't want to work with a bunch of condescending white males either. Citizen's Bank holds billions of dollars in assets, but all for a few dollars, they've gotten this bad review and one on corporate. I see they don't care about the littlest consumer....I truly have the sense that if I had been a man in a suit, I would have gotten farther. I will stick to local banks from now on. Check out the branch of People's in the Mountain Farms plaza in Hadley. Or Florence Savings Bank. Keep it local and friendly and accountable.
