I was being seen at Family Medicine and Dr. Medwid for the better part of a decade, but I think I was actually seen by him only twice in that entire time, despite numerous physicals and sick visits. NP Eve Amendola is terrific and takes the time to discuss your health and your options, but I never felt truly connected to Dr. Medwid or this office. Now that I live in the Merrimack Valley, it was time to change PCPs.I hope that this office and their reception staff can support all of their patients as they need to the way Eve does.

My 2 star rating is for the practice as a whole. My PCP Dr. Gordon gets 5 stars (I'd give more if I could). The problem is the office and the NP's. The office is impossible to get hold of. No matter what time you call you get automatically thrown on hold for at least a half hour listening to the same message repeat every 20 seconds. Yes, they're busy, but not so busy that there should be a minimum 30 minute hold time no matter when you call. Whenever I've been in the office they've always seemed to have plenty of time to talk amongst themselves. There are a couple NP's that are good. Kara Cheever is one of the good ones. Most of the others leave a lot to be desired. One to definitely avoid is August. Went to her once and she ordered an ultrasound on my gall bladder until I informed her that it had been removed 7 years ago! Laughably incompetent. Dr. Gordon will be moving to a different practice soon and I'll be following him since he's the best PCP I've ever had.

only reason this practice gets any starts at all is that Dr Gordon and Kara Cheever are fantastic . ever since Lahey took over this office as gone down the tubes. Highly disorganized and understaffed . Dr Gordon is leaving it and so am I. I went there for 27 years! Sad to see this happen. Poorly managed!

I decided to ignore the negative reviews. Please, don't make the same mistake. I have a number of grievances with this location, but this last incident was the worst. After a minor injury, my symptoms weren't getting better and I wanted to follow up with my PCP just to be safe. I asked for their next available appointment and they refused to book me. The receptionist said that their office doesn't have imaging equipment and I should go to the ER. I stressed that my condition wasn't an emergency, nor critical, and may not even require imaging. I explained that I felt more comfortable receiving medical advice from the doctor. The receptionist continued refusing. No one sees the wizard! I told her that I will not go to the ER and asked if she was refusing me medical care, to which she responded "we cannot help you". So, if you don't wish to heed my warning, take them their word. This physician's office cannot help you. I've since received care elsewhere, no imaging was needed, and I will no longer subject my family to this office.

I seriously have never been so mistreated in my life. I had Dr Medwid, never met or spoke to him. His NP’s think they know what they’re doing but they made 2 of my conditions worse than they already were by misdiagnosing me. Also, they do not care about your mental health and aren’t qualified to prescribe psych meds. My friend who goes here had a cold and tested neg for Covid at home and they treated her, but when the same occurred for me they tried to make me do a PCR. They just literally never know what they’re talking about and it’s seriously a waste of time to see any of these unprofessional “professionals”. They are the text book definition of corrupt healthcare.

Been with office for 20 years. The dr are the best. But do not stand up for your self in anyway with the secretary staff. You will end up not getting reminder calls, left on hold and have your medical needs treated like it’s nothing, so if you love great amazing dr with staff that hold grudges go to this office.

Me and my family have been patients Of Dr. Hugh Taylor for 17 years….. unfortunately I have to find another PCP for me and my family because of Mary Ellen the lady at the front desk has been so rude to me on several occasions. At one point I asked for her name and she refused to give it to me. When I’m on the phone with her she’ll ask me a question and as I try to answer she talks over me. She is the rudest person I’ve ever had to deal with on the phone. She continually puts me on hold for over 15 min. She just hang up on me! Smh I hope she finds the help she needs

The person who answered the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful to multiple members of my family. I was a patient for 5+ years and was sent to an answering machine multiple times where I left messages which were never answered. I will be finding a new PCP and I would recommend you do too

I have been a patient of Dr. Hugh Taylor for 30 all too fast years. One couldn't find a more caring or knowledgeable physician anywhere. His follow thru and over the top medical knowledge are just amazing. Dr. Hippocrates would have been most pleased to have practiced with Dr. Taylor. He is in a class by himself.

I've been with Family Medicine since the beginning and the office was in the doctor's basement and I hope I never have to go to anywhere else other than Dr Gordon is the most amazing man and he cares about you.

I have been a patient of Dr. Medwids for a very, very long time and I wouldn't see anyone else for my "PCP" other than him. He can be busy, but when you are in you're appointment with him it's like no one else is around except what you need/ want to talk to him about. He's been there for me through my worst times and the absolute best times in my life. I can actually attribute getting through the terrible times to him, along with just a few others that went through hell and back with me!! He'd make sure I knew that he was there to only help, never did he make me feel like he was judging me, which I can't say about all of my Dr.s I have been to. If you're looking for a new Dr. (which I know I have always hated!), and are nervous about what they'll be like, if you're going to get along with them, and one of my main concerns, after going through this process more times than I'd like to say, are they really into this profession for the patients or the money.... well I can just say all the above shouldn't be any of your worries. Someone,(esp that being a Dr.), that checks up on you when they know you're not yourself or know you might need a little more attention than usual and actually takes the time to just make sure you know someone cares or just tries to make you feel better says a LOTTT about that person (those are just some examples to try an explain what I was trying to say by the way).

Been here over a year and have seen Dr.Medwid and Karra Cheever. Great experiences with both.
