Food was excellent! Service was good too. Can't wait to try again. ??For lunch I had the roast beef French dip croissant sandwich with french fries. Best I've ever had! Then for dessert I got the banana foster cake. Very yummy. I highly recommend this place.

Food was absolutely terrible. Food was burnt. Portions are smallThe place smelled of old seafood. Very strange smell. We almost left when we first walked in because of the smell but wanted to give it a chance. Not sure why so many people like it.

Nice local spot with good food at affordable prices. It is small and can get full fast. The staff are always very pleasant. Nice local dining spot.

The weathervane is a great local spot in Hamilton for lunch or dinner and sharing cocktails with friends on a cold night. If you’re longing for a taste of Summer , be sure to try Gubba Rum cocktails, always featured at the weathervane. locally owned, made with certified organic ingredients, Gubba silver rum is infused with real coconut, and Gubba Rum is infused with real vanilla. Both are wicked, smooth!

What a nice surprise. Went in an afternoon and sat at the bar. We had stuffed clams which were lovely. I had blackened haddock with mash and veg. The fish was so fresh and the sides were very good. The veggies were cooked!! Not mush but not raw. Very pleased and will definitely return.

Another amazing dinner at The Weathervane! They do not take reservations. Have to wait in line most evenings! Fave local spot! Always busy! Our waitress, Laurel, was so kind and efficient!my jumbo shrimp and scallops were delicious! My uncle had his favorite, lobster and scallop casserole! Always fabulous! Super nice dinner!

I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for Weathervane. The food they serve is absolutely exceptional, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. I have had the pleasure of dining there multiple times, and each experience has been consistently outstanding. From the delicious flavors to the impeccable service

I have always liked the Weathervane, its a place you go to THAT DOESNT CHANGE like everything else in that horrible country.( I don't live in that country anymore ) . The food is always good , went there 34 years ago and have gone A LOT since then. It's small and intimate, very warm feeling place. I do however Have a small interruption in my praise. The man who owns it is very nice, very welcoming, however, he does like to talk, and talk and talk. coming to a table and asking if the food is good, and enjoy your meal is fine. however, I sat there one time ( more than once or twice ) And heard the man talk almost thru the customers dinner. I was facing the sitting guy, and i could see him getting frustrated, however him being the gentlemen he was, kept listening. What's funny, is there was a young guy at the reception desk. We sat close to it, and that kid, bless him, also wouldn't stop talking, this happened twice . .I was thinking, is this in the training ? As i said ...food... terriffic, atmosphere ...great, there clientele, also good people. Just let people enjoy their meal, the public goes out to forget their day at the office, spend it with their husband, wife, kids, whatever, or whatever the circumstance. I hope the WEATHERVANE is open for another 40 years!!!

!!HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH DEBBIE THE MANAGER!! As devout weekly locals coming here 35 yrs, Debbie’s behavior has been increasingly downright nasty towards both staff and patrons, and last night’s straw broke the camels back. Out of courtesy to my hard-of-hearing guest’s request, I asked Debbie “do you know if your salmon is farm or wild.” That’s it, all I asked, gently. Debbie postured bulging eyeballs up in my face, raised her voice in front of the whole restaurant and shot at me “ITS FRESH!! IT SAYS IT RIGHT ON THE MENU!!!” dramatically throwing her arms up rolling her eyes shaking her head is disgust, turning and walking away. She then went on barking orders at others, physically grabbed and pushed forward dear Mary saying “GET MOVING!”. Then UNPROMPTED, Debbie proceeded to come back to our table 4-5 times, combative, instigating trouble pushing herself into my face “ITS FRESH!!” “I TOLD YOU ITS FRESHHHH FRESHHHHHHH!” “YOU OBVIOUSLY CANT READ ITS FRESHHHH!!”I replied “no I simply asked if it was farm or wild. That’s all I asked. A question. No problem.”But she wouldn’t quit. Debbie was like a rabid dog, coming back at me (4 of us) making a huge scene, then screamed “IM THE MANAGER!!!! AND YOURE THIS CLOSE TO BEING PUT ON THE LIST NEVER TO COME HERE!! (Then points to all of us) “NO MORE SERVICE TO THIS TABLE!!!”The horrified couple sitting next to us stated “OMG!!! she’s getting worse each time we come”.To dear owners Paul and Kristen, and adored staff Mary, Caitlin, Janice, and other bartender Nancy?, we’ll be back to hand our Christmas gift$$ to you.But for as long as Debbie is still employed at our dear Weathervane, we are all boycotting. No surprise there’s been a loss of business there too.We all have bad days, and I never ever write reviews, but Debbie is an abusive bad apple, and she’s single-handedly ruining our beloved tavern right under entrusted P and K’s noses. There’s no return from this incident (as it’s been ongoing). Until she’s gone, we and others boycott.
