Took my cat for his annual check up and shots. I didn't have to wait in the waiting room longer than a couple minutes. Everyone was very kind and caring.

We brought our dog in because he seemed to be in pain. We stressed that he had kidney disease. He was given pain killers that severely effected his kidneys. Had to travel to NY (our regular veterinarian). We were told these pain killers were absolutely wrong for a dog with kidney disease. He needed to be hospitalized for two nights to get his kidney values down. When a veterinarian doesn't know what medicines are correct, for your pet's condition, how can they be trusted to correctly take care of your pet. I believe I already posted this review and it is no longer on their website. I hope this is read before they take it down.

My miniature Dachshund had been seen by VCA Pleasant Bay for 16 years, 2 months until a week ago when he had to be helped over the Rainbow Bridge. Over the years we enjoyed taking him to VCA Pleasant Bay and everyone there loved him! However, the past couple of years I started seeing a change in attitude and I felt like the care wasn't fully up to par. I took my dog to another vet for a second opinion, but was told the same. Sadly, on the date of our last visit to VCA Pleasant Bay for his euthanization, the new vet was absolutely compasionate!! I would definitely go back to her, but my husband has a different feeling and is choosing to find another vet. The reason for his feelings were solidified when he received the call saying that our dog was back from the crematorian and ready to come home to us. My husband walked in and was presented with the remains of our beloved mini Dachshund. Disturbingly, Dr. Weintraub was sitting at the front desk area and looked right at him and didn't say a word. She never acknowledged him nor did she offer her condolences. You would think that after 16 years of our dedication we would have been treated kinder during our time of grieving. A week later, we received a sympathy card in the mail, signed by the staff at VCA Pleasant Bay, but Dr. Weintraub never signed the card! Seeing the absence of her signature and the way she treated my husband on the day he picked up our dog's remains, solidified our decision to move on to another vet who will show compassion and the care for any animal they treat.

Poor communication all around. I was no given no notice my large dog would not be able to be groomed. It put me in a bad position as it's hard to find any groomer with openings since covid. Also my fig was apparently due for two shots she needed to be groomed despite the fact she was at the vet 4 times in 2 months. During at least one visit she could have had the shots to avoid any hold up or extra money spent for additional visits. This is the second time this occurred. I am moving my three animals to another veterinary office today. A few minutes time and better communication would have made all the difference !

I have a new black lab puppy and VCA Pleasant Bay has been so kind, patient, knowledgeable and caring in our 1st week! They made an overwhelming effort to make my puppy enjoy going to the vet. She had a wellness check up and a tick scare, both visits were wonderful! Dr. Baker and all the vet techs are amazing! Thank you!

I live in Yarmouth with many Veterinarians nearby. I went to VAC in Harwich because I had a very sick cat and they were able to see me the soonest. Dr Lear was very nice and recommended that I go to the emergency hospital. He called me at home to see how the cat was doing. I brought her back three weeks later for a follow-up. Dr.Lear is great and the technicians and staff are professional and friendly. Today I brought my dog for his annual exam and vaccinations. This will be my Vet from now on. Ed L.

Our golden retriever had cancer for 6 months when we arrived at the Cape this summer and we knew we might have to let her go before we left. The unfortunate day came and Dr. Baker and the caring staff VCA Pleasant Bay were truly outstanding in their care and compassion. They couldn't have created a more supportive environment for our sweet dog and for us. Thank you VCA.
