Please get rid of the crabby guy who works there! I hate going in when he's working as he can put you in a bad mood in 3 seconds. And he tries to over charge so watch your prices!

Stopped in last week for red stripe beer. 6pk overpriced $12.99, 12 pk was $13.99.Came back after letting them know of price discrepancy. And the 12pk is same way overpriced and increased the 12pk price to $15.69 i believe. Wrong move. I won't be returning to that store!

Store is very clean and organized. They have a great selection of wine, beer (also CRAZY amazing craft beer cooler) and liquor. They also have three large cedar wood humidors with an awesome selection of cigars, many I haven’t seen on Cape before now. The employees were so friendly and super helpful.

I haven't done an exhaustive search, but there are only 4 stores in this part of the Cape that stock less common wines, and who have employees that can talk about wines in a reasonably knowledgable way. This is one of the 4...but I should hasten to add that some employees are REALLY knowledgable (John, Mack), but there are also some folks who know close to nothing about wine. There wine selection was quite poor mid-pandemic, but seems to be recovering now. They have a great selection of small brewery and local brew offerings. Their prices aren't the best, but some of the posts exaggerate this issue: when I looked at the VERY PRICEY Pappy Van Winkle, it seemed to be the price that that particular year was commanding (though ridiculously high, in my opinion). Yes, you can get a bottle of widely available spirits for a bit less (I am thinking specifically of Knob Creek bourbon, which is priced about 10% higher here, and sometimes other stores put it on sale, which makes the Portside price rather unappealing), if you don't mind driving a few extra miles. But the reasons for seeking out this store relate to the wines and beers that they have available, and more unusual spirits that you can find here (like Pappy Van Winkle). So it really depends upon what you want, and if you are specifically looking for wine, whether you happen to go in when one of their wine experts is available.

Very beautiful and clean liquor store. Judah and Kieran were very pleasant and helpful in finding alcohol for our Easter Dinner! Their selection is plentiful and the prices are good.

What an absolute joke of a store. They have a sizeable, overpriced French section, that the staff knows absolutely nothing about. I was looking for Gamay and the clerk told me to look in the whites. They didn't know beaujolais, burgundy, or gigondas. I gave up. I'm sure the people going in for nips have no problem though. FYI: everything here is $2-$5 over other retail stores in the area. There are plenty of small wine shops around here where you can get good service and a thoughfully curated collection.

I love this store, it's like the Nordstrom of buying wine or beer. All I have to do is tell someone what I'm having for dinner and BAM every course is perfectly paired for me.

If I could submit a 0 star review, I would. Will not be returning to Portside Liquors ever again. I've been here before and have never had a problem until the other day. The prices are extremely high to begin with compared to others in the area, but in my last visit, I was denied the right to buy alcohol for the first time in my life. I'm 22 years old and and have an in-state Massachusetts ID. The older women came around the corner as I was checking out with my purchases and scorned at myself, a friend, and my little brother, that I was not allowed to buy alcohol because my younger brother was not of age. I had previously explained that he was not 21, which was quite obvious, and I kindly asked what the reason was behind why I, a 22 year old, was denied. The younger men behind the counter were understanding and kind, but this one women was extremely rude and unwelcoming. I felt discriminated against as a younger customer, because if an older man came in with his younger son that was under the age of 21, there would have not been an issue at all. This is my first yelp review and it's unfortunate that such a negative experience caused me to want to post a review so poor. I've heard other negative stories about this place, so be aware! Drive the extra couple miles to the next liquor store and save some money on the cheaper prices!

The customer service at this place is absolutely horrendous! Not helpful. Since the kid behind the counter admits that he’s not “of age”, wasn’t much of a help when I asked for wine suggestions.
