While I can’t post about the quality of the repairs at Ray’s, I can post about their integrity. My car stopped working on 495, about three hours from home, and was towed to the shop. Steve worked with me to understand the issue, tried to source parts, and gave me solid advice as to whether or not it was worth fixing my car. It would have been a pretty expensive job ($5500 for parts alone), and rather than taking my money, he said I was better off to not put more money into it. Not only that, but he allowed me to leave the vehicle at his shop for ten days until I was able to have it towed back to my house. If I lived closer, this would be my auto shop. Thanks again, Steve.

There isn't enough good things to say about Ray's Auto. Steve and his guys are second to none. Very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable people. You can be sure of fair, honest, and quality work every single time. I will never bring my car any where else.

My car was not sounding right so I brought it in and Steve immediately looked at it for me! He explained what it could be in a really comprehensible way and was a super friendly guy! Would definitely recommend this business! Going there for any mechanical issues from now on!

I can’t say enough positive things about Steve and his team at the shop. From my first call, their responsiveness set them apart—they get back to me quickly, answer all my questions, and make scheduling easy. I really appreciated the transparency in pricing; Steve takes the time to explain every charge clearly before any work starts, so there are zero surprises.
What really stands out, though, is Steve’s genuinely polite and professional demeanor. He handles every interaction with care and respect, showing a level of commitment not just to his work, but to his family—which he clearly cherishes. That kind of character is even more impressive to me than his deep auto repair knowledge (and that’s saying a lot, because the repairs are top-notch!). It’s rare to find a shop where skill, honesty, and true character all come together so well. Highly recommended!

My truck broke down on the way to work and I was in need of a good mechanic with good reviews and I came across Ray's Auto Service. I brought my truck in they accommodated me and got it looked at and fixed within 24 hours. Super nice guy, really honest prices and estimates. Definitely my go to for any future repairs! I have been going to Steve for my car for a little over 10 years now. When he moved to Ray's Auto, I followed him over, even though it's a 45 minute drive from Groton. Steve and his team are the most trustworthy, reliable, knowledgeable, and honest humans ever. Steve takes the time to physically show you exactly what your car needs, and what can wait and what cannot, as opposed to printing a laundry list of things your vehicle "needs" and overcharging you for things you didn't need. That has happened to me at other mechanic shops several times. I will not go anywhere else for my car. I drive 45 minutes for oil change too, because I know that my car will be taken care of with precision and I can drive out of there knowing my car is safe and in wonderful condition. I have had my 2013 Honda CR-V for 10 years now, and it's still running wonderfully thanks to Steve and his team. All this to say, is that trust is not something you find easily these days, and you will find it at Ray's Auto, that I can guarantee.
