My mother recently passed away outside Philadelphia, PA at 86 years old. Her Great Grandfather and my Great/Great Grandfather (Abraham Yeakel) was in the Jewelry and Clock business in Perkasie, PA in the 1800’s (Yeakel Jewelers and Clocks) There was an heirloom grandfather clock originally built by Abraham Yeakel in the 1800’s and passed through the family to me most recently. I was very fortunate to connect with Richard at Hills Antique Clocks, I had heard great things about him and his successful clock shop and quality restoration work in Holliston, MA. Richard did an outstanding job with the restoration and just delivered the restored grandfather clock back to us in Franklin, MA. He was very meticulous with the delivery and set up to keep precise time. I highly recommend Richard and Hills Antique Clocks for your grandfather clock restoration needs. Richard was a great person to deal with through the restoration process and delivered on time and complete.

I've used Hills Antique Clocks for years to work on my old clocks. This time, on behalf of the Bedford Historical Society, I took Richard a 1920's banjo clock that was given to the Society to clean up and repair. The Society has just moved into a new space and we wanted this clock to function there and be a focal point. Richard did wonderful work. In additional to cleaning and reconditioning it, he had the beautiful reverse painting on the door restored, and our clock now shines...and it keeps good time, too. The Bedford Historical Society is delighted with Richard Hill's commitment to our clock and to its being in the very best condition it can be. We thank him.Lee Vorderer, Clerk, Bedford historical Society.

We purchased an Ansonia Dial calendar clock (circa 1900) for our home and we’re extremely pleased with the service. We had never bought an antique clock before, but the owner was very knowledgeable and took the time to help us find the right size and style for our living room. They provided accurate cost and time estimates, and even sent us photos and videos to look back on for maintenance. Would highly recommend!

We've gotten one click repaired and purchased a beautiful Boston ship's strike clock at Hill's. The work does take time, but Richard is very upfront about what to expect. The repaired clock looked great after he worked on it. It had a metal glass case that had fallen apart. He repaired the metal frame and even recreated a lost metal finial on the top of the case. The clock we purchased was an antique tandem wind, ship's strike clock. Its bell started to sound a little dull and I asked him about it. He looked it over and decided to check over and clean the entire mechanism - all under his warranty. His work is high quality and he is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him for repairs and purchases.

Rick Hills, owner, is personable, patient, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of antique clocks -- desk, nautical, mantel, banjo, and grandfather clocks. His store is a wonder of 18th, 19th, and early 20th century "high tech" with much gentle ticking, and then ringing and gonging on the hour. I bought a beautiful late-18th Century Grandfather clock from Hills and it has been completely restored, keeps perfect time, and will stand proudly in my front hall, now and for generations to come. Hills Antique Clock Shop is a treasure, and an excellent find.

My 120 year old, French mantle clock worked sporadically for years then finally stopped working. I brought it to Hills' repair shop and had it completely serviced: dismantled, cleaned and lubricated. The clock has been running constantly for several months now and is keeping excellent time! The only negative is that I was without the clock for over three months as Mr. Hills shop is extremely busy. Very pleased to have my old clock running "tip-top" once again!

The antique tall case clock purchased at auction in the Boston area needed repairs and restoration. I was referred to Hills Antique Clocks. I called Richard Hills after a review of his web site suggested he would know what to do. Rick went to the location where the clock was and called to tell me what work was needed, and his quote was reasonable. Rick moved the clock to his shop and kept me informed of his progress. He even sent photos to document the stages of repair. When the work was complete, my conflict prevented a timely transport to my location almost 1000 miles away. Rick kindly kept the clock at his shop until I was able to arrange the move. My entire experience was excellent. Rick was always professional and kind. Since our interactions had to be via phone, I greatly appreciated that Rick took the time to answer my questions. When the clock arrived and was set up, it worked perfectly and looked magnificent. I am grateful to Rick for taking full responsibility and doing exactly what he said. I am happy to give my strongest recommendation.

First Jorgensen clock Tim repaired experienced a broken mainspring pall within 2 years. Second Chelsea was returned with the half hour arm improperly engaged. Unfortunately I dropped the third clock off that same day. Third clock also did not run when returned to me. I immediately returned it to him. The final verdict was it’s not repairable after I paid him for the repair. I learned my lesson and will send the Chelsea back to them for repair and chalk up Tim’s charges as a loss. Now repair clocks take up to a year. When I called after COVID in February, a year later, about the last clock repair. Tom told me he needed a couple more weeks which was more than reasonable. I was to get a call back. Left a message in July after no call back. Wife called and told me she called in December. Not true. She was totally impolite (deplorable) and hung up on me. Glad not to have to deal with her ever again. There was no December call when I looked at my phone records. I do have the February phone record.

I recently purchased a wonderful Seth Thomas clock from Hills Antique Clocks. I am thoroughly pleased with it as well as the wonderful, friendly and professional service. In this day and age of computers, electronics and cell phones, it is nice to know there are still 'old school' craftspeople servicing superb time pieces that will work for future generations! It is also very much worth the trip to quaint Holliston Center!

Purchased a 19th century French baker's clock. Clock is gorgeous and price was great. Professional service, owner answered all my questions and made sure it was in excellent condition. We're hanging it up in library/den with his instructions. Love the video they created to show us how to wind it and keep it running! Highly recommend if you're looking for a timeless antique to add to your home!

Richard serviced my 1907 Chelsea Ship's Bell clock for an extremely fair price, and very promptly. I've left with him another Chelsea clock, a Mk 1 deck clock, for attention.I couldn't be more pleased.

I brought a small cottage clock to Mr. Hill. It needed the hands to be reattached and realigned! He did it on the spot, as I waited.. I have had several clocks repaired and have purchased another wall clock. Mr. Hill's service is reasonable and thorough. I would never deal with any other clock repair. He is extremely personable and always explains any clock idiosyncracies! Just the best!
