I am extremely disappointed with this establishment. I went in nine days ago for a full set appointment. Three of my nails are chipped off the front of the full set, where the fake tip is glued on to my natural nail. The day of my appointment, Van told me my nail beds were very DRY. When I went to complain and ask for a refund I was very nice. I just explained to them that I don’t have time to keep coming in every time a nail breaks, if they can just give me a refund so I can get them fixed somewhere else, where they won’t break as easy. Van continue to raise her voice as I was calmly speaking with her and I reassured her that I’m having a simple conversation that she does not need to yell at me and she continue to laugh in my face and try and treat me like if I’m a child. She told me that because we use our hands on the daily that is why the nails break and that she would’ve been glad to fix them for me if I came in when they broke. I tried to mention to her that the tip of my full set was very thin, and that’s probably why they’re chipping off, not because of my “dry/oily” nails. She tried to tell me that she knows my cuticles and my nail beds and how they are (I’ve only gone to this place 2 times in 3 years) She knew that it might have happened because of my cuticles are my nail beds being oily, but I continue to tell her that they were not breaking because my nails were oily, they were breaking because the gel was too thin on my full set. I spent $65 on a very short French tip full set and they’re all just falling off five days after getting them done. I will never go here again, they don’t deserve any business they get.
My response to Hi-Shine comment: why would I want you to fix nails that are popping off everyday. Like I told you, I do not have time to come back every time a nail breaks bc I’m in school and have a full time job which you also knew. I didn’t yell you guys suck, I said it so everyone can hear me and how rude you’re being. Is that why my favorite eyebrow artist left? You’re a rude and manipulative person who doesn’t deserve the business you have. I didn’t demand a refund. I continued to tell you that I was confused on why you couldn’t gives the refund. You did not say that because it was 9 days after I got them done that that’s the reason for not giving me a refund. You said “I am not giving you a refund bc we all use our hands and that’s why they break.” To which I responded that I was lying in bed when one of them broke. I haven’t needed to review a salon until now because they usually always own up to their mistakes and would rather continue to have business rather than loose it from a bad experience with a bad review.

Van is amazing. She always fits me in and does a great job. I’ve had a variety of services from her and continue to come back. Been a great place to go for years.

Thuy is the best! My nails always come out exactly how I want them. I make an appointment every two weeks and never have to wait. I also never seem to have to deal with broken or chipped nails.

Unless you feel like waiting 30 minutes to be seen, don’t bother going to the salon. Besides that the rude and instead of just telling you, they’re too busy, they try to keep you there and make you wait. After three times of this happening, you bet I will never be back in the salon again, and I suggest that you do the same.

I’ve been a customer at Hi Shine Nails for almost 10 years, and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. The salon is always clean, and the staff is great! Van is wonderful to work with and always does a beautiful job on my nails! Very pleasant staff - always a great experience!

I had to stop going to Hi Shine because Van (the owner) became so nasty and rude. It started with a couple of appointments where she seemed to be having a bad day, then it progressed into every appointment. I only got basic gel manicures, nothing fancy no designs.
Her unprofessionalism appears to be rooted in extreme overwhelm, (perhaps)? But it has been consistent. I saw her long term. Over time it got so bad I just had to stop “taking it.” Just like an abusive relationship. Enough was enough. She is condescending, belittling, aggressive, rushed, and verbally abusive. I’ve seen her be this way with others as well.
This salon came up in conversation a few weeks ago with an acquaintance of mine as we were discussing local salons. She mentioned that she had to stop going too because she was sick of being yelled at every time she went to get her nails done. I don’t know about you, but for me a nail appointment is about self-care, relaxation, pampering and treating yourself. Being thrown into fight or flight the entire time is not only the opposite of relaxation, it’s wrong and unfair. Do the work. Take a break or get into some therapy. It’s sad ?
I had to do this review so that others are aware of what they’ll be getting themselves into.
Cleanliness: Not very clean. Never seen disinfectant. Needs improvement

I am disabled - so I can't go just any where for a pedicure. My sister-in-law's cousin recommended this place to me. They had NO PROBLEM helping me stand to get into the chair. I personally DON'T like my feet touched - they make it livable. I definitely tell everyone I know - where I go.

I've gone here every so often for a few years now and it's been fine. Until last week when I got an infection from the pedicure I received. The doctor confirmed it was from dirty tools used. Be careful if you go, make sure you watch them clean their tools or avoid completely.

Please be aware of this nail place. A few days ago i went to get a gel manicure. Two days after i got them done, my nails felt unusual and sore. I went back to the place because i wanted to remove the gel from my nails. When i asked Van to remove the gel she advised that the nails were fine and said it was nothing. I took her advice and left, however a week later my nails got worse and started to cause me a lot of pain. I went back and made her remove the gel and this is what my nails looked liked. I knew something was wrong because i’ve never experienced something like this. I had to call my dr and he put me on antibiotics because the pain and the soar was bad. Now I have to find a dermatologist to get professional help. But I’m taking this serious and am getting advice this is not right.
