Love Heart and Soul!! You are always warmly welcomed when you arrive and feel special. The atmosphere has natural energy and the menu and specials are fantastic. My sister took me there for my birthday and before I knew it the entire restaurant, patrons and staff, were singing Happy Birthday to me. A special place for sure!! Great food, atmosphere and service. A definite 5 rating all around!

My wife and I recently stumbled into the Heart & Soul Café on Central Street in Ipswich. It's not so much a restaurant as it is a time machine - if you're a certain age that remembers the 1960s and 70s (and my wife & I definitely are), particularly the music, then you'll feel like you've been whisked back in time. If the café was transported to Bethel, NY (the Woodstock festival site), it would be perfectly at home. Of course, you don't go to a restaurant entirely for ambiance; you go there to eat, drink and relax. And the food at Heart & Soul is absolutely amazing. We haven't tried everything yet (although we're working on it), but what we've had is consistently excellent, and you can tell Julie and Bud (the owners) are sourcing the best and freshest components for their offerings. If you want to immediately make your mouth water, go to their website ( click on "testimonials" and watch the Phantom Gourmet and other videos. Do it on your phone, though, because half-way through you'll want to be heading to the car to drive over to the Heart & Soul for your first meal there. [It might be safer to Uber it - 15 or so minutes after you eat, expect the onset of a fabulous food coma!] But ... the last key ingredient to a meal at the Heart & Soul is Bud & Julie themselves. They are the most welcoming of hosts and the big reason why Heart & Soul has such an incredibly inviting atmosphere. We hadn't been there 5 minutes on our first visit and we felt like regulars, and it seemed like everyone that walked through the door was on a first-name basis with the owners and staff. Bud & Julie are the epitome of the expression "... if you love what you do, you never have to go to work." Check out the Heart & Soul Café - you'll wish you'd discovered it years ago.

It's not what it used to be. We stopped going because literally every time we went there was an issue. Either they forgot to make my food, it arrived cold, wrong order, or cooked incorrectly. The owner would be nice every time and apologize and comp our meal, but that was getting pretty exhausting and it got to a point where we were made to feel like something was wrong with us. Anyway, food used to be great. Amazing corn beef, although last time we went they cut it with potatoes on the Benedict which was hugely disappointing. Hope to go back one day and have things be better. They desperately need better staff, there's a few waiters who know what they're doing but a lot of the rest are kids who don't know what they're doing at all.

I came in here to get a coffee because I liked the name of the cafe. Heart and Soul… sounds nice, right? Turns out that’s exactly what they take from you. They charged $5 for a large black coffee. It’s hot water and some beans. I asked how much a latte would be and they said $7. What a joke. Place isn’t even nice inside, feels like a run down diner but with Manhattan prices. Walked out feeling like I got robbed.

Not only is the food excellent, the staff is friendly and very customer oriented. Although on Jan.1, 2024 Heart & Soul Cafe was extremely busy, including two large parties, the highly esteemed and dashing owner, Buddy Siciliano took time to come out and greet his customers, even took pictures with them. It almost felt like going home again! ??Looking forward to meeting Buddy’s wife Julie (also owner) next time.I highly recommend Heart and Soul Café for your next breakfast adventure! ☕️?? M.

I've been here many times and the service and food is consistently excellent. The vibe is really different - kind of retro cool, but not so hip that older folks don't feel comfortable. The best breakfast I've had in Ipswich.

Excellent modern cafe, with ample vegan and vegetarian options. The atmosphere is cool and comfy, and the service was prompt and friendly.I chose the vegan sweet potato and cranberry veggie burger and really enjoyed it.The rock n' roll posters that decorate the cafe are fun to look at while waiting for your meal. There's even a picture of the owner with Ron Wood of The Rolling Stones!Five stars for Heart and Soul Cafe!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
