I went to the ER with severe upper back pain and tingling in my hand. I'm in the process of moving, so I figured it was a soft-tissue/bone issue. My blood pressure was a bit elevated, so they did a 5 hour cardiac work up. Apparently no one at Faulkner is aware that pain increases blood pressure. They told me my aorta wasn't ruptured and sent me home. I didn't even wait for the discharge papers. At least I was able to get out of the filth that is the hospital. No call button in the room. Pillows with no pillow cases (eeeewww) a used tissue on the floor, and staff members coming in to throw their garbage in the can. And then there were the finger/toenail clippings all over the floor. As far as the bathroom, it appeared have been hosed down with several gallons of urine, and had never been cleaned.A day later, the pain is worse, and has spread. The staff were all very nice. It's a shame they have to work in such a cesspool.Do yourself a favor and avoid Faulkner. It's filthy, disgusting, and unable to provide medical care.

Because it’s smaller than Dana Farber and not as current, I was a little hesitant to have the surgeries done here. But my experience was great. The staff was extremely kind and dedicated to treating me well. I took a star because the facility itself needs updating and the parking garage is small.

Unfortunately, I've had to visit many hospitals in the last twenty years. This hospital is a very good place, with professional and knowledgeable Doctors. It's very clean and easy to find where you need to go. There are many staff as you enter ready to help you with any questions.Highly recommend!

The beginning of The ER Visit was good. Then this became a scary and Threatening Experience. The Room my Son and I was put in had Outdated equipment that didn't work Including two Nurse Call Buttons which they kept replacing and didn't work. Then they mentioned putting my son on a Cardiac Monitor and they didn't not have electricity to make it work. My son had no monitor . My son and I had diagnosis of Covid 19 and we're very sick. The Hospital ? Faulkner Brigham refused to give us any Antecdote to cure us. I feel like this Is depraved Indifference and Criminal Negligence. I would never use this antiquated Hospital ? ever again.

I was admitted to this hospital after being in the ER of Brigham and Women's hospital on 75 Francis St. It has been a very bad experience from the start.I am a quadriplegic which makes me susceptible to skin problems. I was put on a bed for 3 days that was not a pressure relief bed which was available in the hallway charging. I asked the staff to put me in the bed because there is electricity in my room also. I was then told there was a lack of staff to do this. Finally after 3 days with numerous requests and complaints I was put in the bed. I will also add that after two days of being in a hospital I could not get washed up. Only until I complained about that it was done. The nursing aid staff in most cases have 13 patients which is unreasonable. The nursing staff is overworked. This is an administrative issue so all folks beware of the care at BWH.

I am writing this letter in both desperation to be heard and frustration with the unsafe and rude treatment I’ve experienced at this hospital in the last month. For over 2 years I was a patient of Dr. Wang for pain clinic. During this time, he worked hard to find the perfect way to inject me to avoid pain from my neurology issues and created a plan so other doctors could treat me. When he left, he recommended a PA Mary O’Dwyer.I went to this PA for 2-3 for nerve block and botox and on our last visit I asked her a question about my bottom jaw, she became defensive and refused to answer. After this visit, my husband sent an email letting her know of one injection on the back of my neck, where my hair was hurt. I’ve never had pain from an injection site, especially a week later and was concerned. Her response was to refer to a pain clinic, no one asked about the injection site(which is covered by my hair). I was a nurse for over 40 years before I became ill, everyone knows an injection site that cannot be seen by the patient (due to hair) is a concern. There are multiple medical issues that could result and put me in danger from an issue like this being untreated and I was horrified no one cared. I was simply referred without a care and left to hope I didn’t end up with Cellulitis or an infection. I went to my referral at Chestnut Hill Pain Clinic, I went to this appointment and spoke with a resident who then went to speak with a physician. A physician then came in and told me they only treat headaches and couldn’t do anything for me. They’ve given me phone numbers (my husband has spent hours on the phone with no avail) and no one seems to care that treatment. I’ve been offered for years is no longer available to me suddenly. I then called Patient Advocate and she said she’d speak with Mary O’Dwyer who I’ve tried to speak with and I’ve occasionally received emails. Abygail Meeks with Patient/Family Relations emailed me after 1 call letting me know my case was closed. She had no idea we went to Chestnut Hill, does not respond to any calls, and has indicated per Mary and no one else can assist, and nothing can be done. For 2 years I had wonderful treatment from Dr. Wang and was able to live my life in less pain, now I’m being told, “too bad, so sad” from your physician and Patient Relations. I thought this hospital cared for their patients and made some type of effort, but it seems like if you do not agree with everything they say (even when it can put you in danger) and take what you can get? You are expected to leave them be and suffer in pain. Without this botox, not only am I in pain but without the relaxations of the muscles, my jaw does not open, I have vision issues, I have issues digesting/choking and food can end up in my lungs. But I’m beginning to believe this hospital does not care

i’ve been in and out of bwh main campus and the service was always absolutely awful. i was transferred here because bwh had no availability for beds and my godddd do i feel blessed for that. the staff here treat you like humans and not numbers or hassles that they have to deal with. i feel so lucky to have been sent here.

The medical care I received at the Faulkner Hospital was abominable and if it were not for my very loud voice and my responsive Dr. who was supposed to have been notified and wasn't) things could have been even worse. I was quite ill when I was transferred from the Brigham ER and was told (not asked) that I was being taken to a private room at the Faulkner. If I had any strength, I would not have agreed. Upon my arrival, I said that it was imperative that they contact my pulmonologist. This was on Saturday. On Monday, I paged my Dr. and she was not even aware that I was in the hospital! I was discharged on Thursday and told that I did not need anymore antibiotics. Since I had only been on oral antibiotics a couple of days, this seemed odd and I asked if they had spoken with my Dr. (not since Tuesday). At first, I was informed she could not be contacted but after insisting , she was, and yes- further antibiotics were needed. I did have two very good nurses and one who should not be treating patients. I hope that no other patient endures what I went through.I left the hospital not ready to be discharged but felt that home was a far safer environment than the Faulkner.

Emergency department is full of racist nurses and doctors. Did you speak with a slight accent they make fun of the way you talk, don't take your complaints seriously, and dismiss you without treatment. And even if you don't have an accent, having the wrong last name or the wrong skin color will end up with you getting poor treatment at this facility. Avoid it if you value your health! If you read through all the reviews on his Google page you'll notice that all of the bad reviews come from people with Hispanic last names, and that's not a coincidence because they are being treated terribly. These Healthcare Providers need to be ejected and held accountable for their actions!

Would avoid this hospital completely for elective procedures. My grandmother’s knee surgery was botched by some resident, despite having word from the surgeon that he would be performing the surgery. After many unanswered phone calls for follow up care, my grandmother finally got her knee replacement revised at Stanford. She still lives in pain, albeit milder thanks to the folks in Palo Alto, CAAvoid this Teaching Hospital to avoid years in pain.
