Horrible customer service, gave me a truck with a bad back door that was stuck and double charge me when the gave me a replacement! Their respond is we're a third party and not our problem, Call 1800-UHAUL ....... Never ever again from place

I had a bad experience with their UHaul service, which I think is probably indicative of their overall service level at this location. I had booked a UHaul, dolly, and a pack of the protective blankets. When I showed up, they had the truck and no blankets or dolly. When I asked why they weren't prepared for the booking I got a response to the effect of 'you should feel lucky the truck was even here'. I was really in need of a dolly for the move and realizing I was stuck, the rep offered to rent me a taylor rental dolly. I asked if he could comp it seeing as how I had booked that through their UHaul service and he said the 2 businesses were completely separate and there was no way he could do that. Realizing that the move could take longer than originally anticipated, I asked if I could return the truck the next morning without getting charged for the second day. The agent assured me that as long as I had the truck back before the start of business and dropped of the key in the key box, I'd only be charged for the day. He also assured me I could leave the taylor rental dolly in the UHaul truck and he would deal with it in the morning and refund my security deposit on the dolly. I survived the move and managed my end of the deal: the truck was dropped off the next morning at 7:30am, with the dolly in the back. When I went to check my credit card statements a few days later I was surprised to see that 1) I had been charged for 2 days, and 2) I was never reimbursed for the security deposit on the taylor rental dolly. No problem, right? Just an simple error that can be cleared up with a phone call... Nope. Wen I called up the establishment to try and resolve this, I was met with total indifference. I was told there was nothing they could do about the UHaul double charge and that I'd have to deal with UHaul directly, then when I asked about the dolly I was put on hold and hung up on. I called back and then was told she would need to check the back of the truck and asked what size truck I had rented and immediately put me on hold again. WHAT!? This was 4 days later. They were supposed to check the day I dropped it off, and surely the truck had been rented out 4 times since then. The agent on the phone finally came back and told me she checked the only 10 foot truck in the lot and that it didn't have a dolly in the back. I tried to calmly explain that I had dropped off the truck 4 days earlier at 7:30 in the morning with the dolly in the back and the arrangement that her colleague had assured me would be honored. She responded with 'I only answer phones here'... At this point I had had enough of dealing with a business that has such indifference and disrespect for the customer. I called UHaul to work this out directly with them, I'll eat the 20$ deposit on the dolly, but one thing I will certainly never do is give this place my business again.

This is one of my first reviews of any kind :-) We haven't yet used any other rental place so can not compare but we have been satisfied with Taylor Rental. Used them twice for our party needs and they were nice and polite and always had stuff ready for us for pickup. No waits etc. Helped load and unload the stuff and the paperwork was neat. And today we had some water in the basement and they rented a pump. Again, very helpful. I would gladly recommend them to others. Gaurav
