The location was perfect! We were able to walk around town, shop and get to and from dinner with ease. Everything was provided for us, down to the smallest detail. It really felt like home away from home.

We stayed at the Hampton Terrace BnB a few years ago and it was a great experience. This year, we again decided to celebrate a birthday in the Berkshires. Our first and only choice was to revisit Hampton Terrace and we were not disappointed. Stan continues to own and manage HT and does a fantastic job. We stayed in one of the King Cottages (separate from the main house). The room was spacious, clean, and contained a jacuzzi hot tub as well as a gas fireplace. Very romantic!! When we arrived, there was a personal note along with a book of things to do.The buffet style breakfast was top notch and includes fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, breads, jams, OJ, coffee, etc. Our first morning breakfast included fresh blueberry pancakes and sausage whereas our second morning breakfast included fresh scrambled eggs, grits, and ham steaks. Everything was delicious.HT is close to local restaurants (walking distance in the summer). We love HT and its friendly staff. We will be back again!! Thank you Stan for a wonderful experience.

The inn is very gracious and calm. It’s a grand house! Stan the innkeeper made sure we had everything we needed. Our breakfast was beautifully served and quite substantial. The inn is centrally located and we were within a 5 minute walk to Lenox center, restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend the inn and hope to stay there again in the warmer weather.

We just stayed 2 nights in the Marion Slocum suite. Best Inn experience we have ever had. Beautiful facility with great owners that ensure your stay is perfect. Very well run establishment. They don’t scrimp on anything. Amazing breakfast. Everything is as portrayed on their website. We have stayed at many other places in the Berkshires and this is our new favorite property. We are already planning our next stay.

We searched for the ideal place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We couldn't have chosen a better place. Breakfast was fabulous, accommodations were cozy and just as described on their website. The location was perfect to discover small hometown feel with the area restaurants and shops. The people were all welcoming wherever you ventured. Perfect place to slow down, relax and soak in all the charm of New England.

Just had a weekend stay at Hampton Terrace Inn. What an amazing house, very cozy and comfortable. Stan the owner is very accommodating and always on site, he makes the breakfast everyday! Much better having the owner run the Inn than some of the big companies that have bought and conglomerated Inns in the area. We stayed in the carriage house, very quiet and comfortable, the gas fireplaces create a warm atmosphere. Town is a 5 min walk, excellent restaurants and shops. Will stay here again when visiting Lenox.

This is my first experience at a bed-and-breakfast. I understand that there is historic value, and that is what people are attracted to. I have discovered that I am not a bed-and-breakfast lover. As far as the hotel is concerned, the shower in the bathroom is very slippery, the pillows were the worst part of my stay! They were hard as a rock and flat as a pancake, I literally had trouble sleeping. There was breakfast, which was good. The town is lovely. All of the restaurants were good except for Firefly I would not recommend that. The service was bad, I sat at the bar for 20 minutes and finally asked the bar back for a drink, and the food was mediocre and under seasoned! Like I said, I am not a bed-and-breakfast lover, so take that into consideration. I did not like eating breakfast with everyone, as I would really rather not listen to people talk right in the morning! I understand also, that people want a sense of community at these type of establishments., But I guess that’s not for me! The cleaning staff does not replenish, coffee or creamers, and when I told the owner that the coffee was not replenished, he said he does not have time for that? I would think for $375.00 a night some coffee in your room isn’t a big deal. Just make sure you memorize the note on your bed, and if you have a question, you will be reminded that the answer is in the letter on your bed. I did not get a sense of warmth from the owner. Make sure to go to Great Barrington it’s a great town for shopping! Oh well good luck, just remember to bring your own pillow!

We were in Lenox to celebrate our anniversary, and we chose this B&B based on the high number of glowing reviews. While the photos looked nice online, we were disappointed that our suite didn't have the old New England period charm and character like what we've experienced at other B&Bs in New England. (It was a spacious, comfortable room though with a fireplace… just a bit newer than we had expected.) It did have a great location in Lenox and walkable to everything, and the homemade breakfast was lovely. The owner did try to accommodate us and offer to switch rooms, but unfortunately all rooms were booked. He even generously offered to refund our stay if we wanted to switch hotels, but it was already late in the day, and it didn't make sense to switch for a one night stay. Ultimately he discounted our stay, which we very much appreciated.Walkability: Walkable to restaurants & shops in Lenox

We had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Terrace Inn. Stan, the owner, is an excellent host. Breakfast every morning was very good with many options from which to choose. To accompany a hearty breakfast, Stan was graciously willing to answer questions about the area which he knows extremely well. In addition, he gave a terrific history of the Inn which was fascinating. The piano in the living room has a great story tied to Stan’s family. Be sure to ask him about it!Stan provided a list of many area attractions and restaurants which was so helpful in planning daily outings. The one place I would add is the Frelinghuysen Morris House and Studio if you like contemporary art. It is very close to the Inn and a very interesting and enjoyable experience. The Hampton Terrace Inn is very well located. You can reach anywhere easily from here. Give serious consideration to staying here when you visit the Berkshires.
