Having a great time hereStaff is friendly. My kids were not sure what to order to drink, so the caretaker of the hotel tried to make them a drink he would have as a child. They loved it.Lobby is great for hanging out and they have board games. The interior design is well done. Lobby looks beautiful.Bed is good and sheets are cotton. They could have rubber mats in the rooms for snowy shoes but that is a minor detail. The ac is a wall mounted unit that sticks out in the room. Not the preferred setup but I think that style is rather common on these motel-like buildings.Great value for the price.Do not understand what all the negative reviewers expect. Four Season service at an eight of the price?

Did a long weekend stay at the Life House Berkshires and can't recommend it highly enough. The atmosphere was perfect: from the color palette to the lighting, to the scent, everything hit the mood it was aiming for.Even better, the rooms were clean, well-done, and far exceeded the standard of the "motel" expectations. While there's nothing overly fancy included in the room, they offer Le Labo soaps and products en room and the option to request additional toiletry items via the front desk.Of note, no mini-fridge in the room (although they did offer some snacks). Also there's no cash on property. Didn't matter to us, but just something to note.Shout out to Alex the evening manager who greeted us warmly and made an excellent cocktail. He enhanced the experience and made us feel very welcome/comfortable.Overall, a great stay and would have expected it to cost more.

We stayed for two nights in room 118 and had our two kids and dog with us. Overall, a very underwhelming experience.- First, let’s be very clear that this is a motel that has a nice front room/lobby. Don’t expect to find anything for toddlers or kids in this space.- It is not within walking distance to any local amenities, purely a drive in/drive out motel.- While it is dog friendly, there is not designated dog walking area, no dedicated dog refuse containers, and no poop bags so many guests have left their poop on property without cleaning up.Three biggest disappointments:1. Poor customer service: Our room (118) had a large mechanical unit in the room, and it turned on with no way of turning it off. It made a very loud noise and the entire room vibrated (see video). It made it unfit to sleep or relax in the room. When we asked about this, the staff said it had been a recurring issue but there was no way to turn it off. When we asked for a remedy, they said they could try and move us to another room. After over an hour, the staff received approval from the manager, but offered no help to move our gear. It was 9:30pm and we needed to move our toddlers, dog and gear to a room nearly half the size. The next day the manager didn’t apologize, didn’t offer any compensation. Of course the property has not sent out a satisfaction survey after our stay.2. No EV charging on site. How do you build a ‘modern’ roadside motel / property in 2022 and not put any charging capability? I tried to use a 110 plug in to do trickle charging and the outdoor plugs all tripped as this was too much for them to handle.3. In room experience is poor. Yes, they will advertise LeLabo and Revival linens but bed was not comfortable, pillows were cheap and not pleasant. There are no built in USB-C ports (again, built for 2010), no hooks to hang coats on in a region where it’s cold for half the year, no hooks or racks in bathroom to hang your towel or robe—not even one on the back of the door?! The suite we were in had a day bed in it that had the most odd / ugly faux leather topper on it that looked like it came from a 1990s hospital and was very uncomfortable to sit on. We had to ask for linens to make it up differently.

Room was clean, odor-free. The heater blower ran constantly and the control buttons for it didn't light up or respond. As I intended the photos to show: there was a single small chair at the shelf which is termed "writer's desk" (ha ha... no writing materials, not even a note pad) and no other seats nor any small table to sit at to do anything. NO device for making cups of coffee and tea, which I have found to be the ordinary, pleasant thing everywhere else! Some places offer the device and many packets of coffee and tea, and I always use them. No microwave oven. (Okay, maybe not every motel offers that, but some do.) Two water glasses. Lots of canned alcoholic beverages. (? Just for making money off the customer.) There is a regrigerator, (but no way to heat any food). No clock or clock radio, another common ordinary motel feature. No dresser nor drawers, no stand for a suitcase. No box of tissues. Apart from the sink's shelf, the bathroom has NO hooks, shelves, or bars to hang clothes while doing anything in there. Blank walls and door backside. There was one projection near the shower which held a hairdryer bag. This is just not acceptable! I had to just plop my clothes on the floor. The bathroom sink has a stupid decorative grate across the drain hole, no stopper, so you cannot even have a pool of water for shaving, for example. Absurd. It's just a bizarre robotic accomodation lacking those simple things I absolutely expect in a motel for @ $137 a night!Absolutely would never book here again.Rooms: Only a single small chair at the termed "writers desk". Nothing else to sit on but the bed. Heater controls may or may not function - the fan runs CONSTANTLY, a white noise whirr, but the buttons for adjustments don't respond, and there are no lights on the buttons to indicate anything. NO hooks, bars, or shelves - apart from sink top - in the bathroom to hang clothes ( ! ), so I used the floor. (There is one 'hook' near the shower holding the hairdryer bag.) No stopper built into the bathroom sink fixtures to hold water in the sink for... anything, such as shaving. (There is a little grille over the drain hole.) Room description says bathrobes. Nope. There is running water. The toilet works, flushing with a roar.No coffee/ tea pot nor microwave oven, which are ordinary, expected, cheaper motel room features. Most cheap hotels have a coffee and tea maker, and a microwave oven. Two glasses. No other items for drinking. Not even a box of tissues. If you want to blow your nose, go in the bathroom and use toilet paper.I am amused at the high concept advertising, photos, fancy text fonts, and so on, but the room looks like it was designed by and for robots. Less than minimal features, for a lot of money. Oh: Though there just two glasses, there are LOTS of alcohol drinks in cans on the counter ("writer's desk") and in the refrigerator. (there IS a refrigerator). I guess the idea is a customer will drink these and then a charge will be made to their credit card. Since there is no microwave oven, we just put the heatable food we bought at the Price Chopper back into the car. It's cold out. It will "keep".Clean, with running water

Location is awesome, close to everything the Berkshires have to offer. I didn’t get the name of the gentleman working the bar, but he was so kind and super helpful. The room was very clean and the bar area was nice! Cool decor :)Rooms: Clean!!!

The Life House Berkshires is a beautiful hotel filled with funky design and high quality features. My husband and I loved the hotel, but even more, we loved the staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. I can't wait to go back!

The staff at Life House went above and beyond for us during our stay. We left an item behind, they found it for us and got it to Fedex in record timing allowing us to have it in our hands less than 12 hours after we left the property. We enjoyed dinner and drinks at the bar along with some pleasant conversations with Alex and Glenn. We had a really special experience at a well designed and modern property in the Berkshires. We are excited to visit their other properties!

Lifehouse needs to reevaluate the leadership at this place. The rooms are ok and the food was good, but the service was terrible. Alex the General Manager is very detached and has a poor demeanor, clearly does not care about his staff and was VERY RUDE to myself and my daughter on the phone. He insulted my intelligence, then proceeded to blame his staff for everything. This Alex the GM is clearly dragging the place down.Patronizing is a very bad way to communicate with guests.Besides that, the beds are comfortable and the grounds are nice and other staff were great.

Gorgeous motel conversion, I haven't checked when this happened but everything feels very new and clean. The bar building is amazing, food, drinks, and service were great. Great atmosphere at night in particular.

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip due to a family emergency. I canceled four days ahead of the booking, but they still would only reimburse me 50% of the total -- and the total included taxes and fees. So they kept the pre-paid taxes and fees on a stay that was canceled? Absolutely ridiculous.

The general Manager ALEX is very unprofessional. The other staff were great, but ALEX is clearly self observed and very rude to guest. I watch him berate an employee while also attempting to seduce the bartender. I am 55 years old and have stayed in other lifehouse hotels, but never have I witness such a terrible leader ruining such a lovely vibe. Lifehouse deserves better.

Nicely decorated lobby, but service is non-existent. Both the restaurant and bar were closed for the time we were there and we weren’t informed prior to check in and there was no way to know. There was no one on the property and it felt a little deserted given that no one was answering calls or messages as well.

Great funky little hotel. Room was clean. The staff were friendly. Perfect place to stay for a tanglewood weekend.

First, the good news: Friendly staff, albeit there are very few of them. The motel is woefully understaffed. The renovated lobby and outside dining area are attractive and tastefully done. Now the negatives: The rooms are small, dark, dingy and poorly maintained, if maintained at all. I suspect they are what you might expect to find at a budget motel. While we were there during high season in the Berkshires, the exorbitant rates ($600+) are impossible to justify, other than supply and demand.

This is NOT A HOTEL it's a tiny MOTEL. For 1300 for two nights this gets zero stars. The room was relatively clean but then again there are no lights in room so you can't see dirt. The rooms are tiny and beds uncomfortable. There is no one working in the hotel and no one answer phones if you have a question. You do check in yourself. There is zero security with a cat walk outside and dogs barking. The bar has no wine as they are waiting for delivery. LThis is a just an over priced motel with new siding and new windows.
