Aloft Lexington offers a fun and stylish atmosphere reminiscent of Boston or New York hotels, set in the Massachusetts suburbs. It is a good choice for visiting local colleges, thanks to its central location near Boston and the northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire region, where many colleges and universities are situated. Guests appreciate the unique rooms, which appeal to families and travelers looking for a different experience. The hotel features amenities like a pool, pool table, lounge, and indoor/outdoor spaces that are enjoyable for both kids and adults. The well-stocked bar adds a nice touch, especially after a day of college visits. The hotel is generally clean and has a lovely appearance, but service can be inconsistent. Some staff members are friendly and accommodating, while others may seem stoic or unhelpful, especially at check-in. Room amenities are basic; some guests noted issues like stained floors, lack of towel hooks, and inconvenient electric outlets. The absence of an on-site restaurant was a disappointment, as advertised, and other amenities like ice machines and bottled water were sometimes unavailable. Some rooms and facilities could benefit from updates, such as bathroom fixtures and lighting. Despite these issues, many guests find the beds comfortable and the rooms clean, making it a decent budget-friendly option in the area. The walkability to nearby restaurants varies, with some locations requiring a bit of walking. Overall, Aloft Lexington provides a fun, affordable stay with a few service and maintenance quirks, ideal for travelers interested in exploring the local colleges and enjoying a lively atmosphere.

The lobby of this hotel's been completely redone and it is literally five star. There's a pool table, fireplace, saltwater pool and fitness center. Highly recommended if you like staying in the aloft style hotels. Nihil was great at the front desk and helped me with all my questions. Staff overall is very nice!

Service level and cleanliness have seen a marked drop in recent years. One small example: the lobby restroom has no soap, no toilet paper (!), and the trash is overflowing from the bin. Generally, not a good impression. Seems like staffing is an issue, but as a paying guest, it is not my issue.
