I wish that I had read reviews here before I went along to open an account. I received an invitation by mail to open an account to receive cash rewards after meeting some requirements. However, after I opened the account online, switched my direct deposit (required for the rewards), they closed my account, no reasons whatsoever. The decision came with snail mail, so I was left there confused why I CAN'T log in and PAY MY CREDIT CARDs. And now the first direct deposit money together with the account opening money is frozen there for at least 30 days. Today the 4 weeks T-bill rate is 5.5% annually. It is a scam to hold my money for 30 days. Not to mention that I have to liquidate my other investments to pay for credit card bills. I wish I could rate negative stars.

Worst customer service. I had just closed all my accounts at boa and wanted an actual teller to deposit the money because of the amount and they wouldn't do it. They were very rude. I'll find a new branch.

This location is run by complete incompetent idjits. First they screwed up my mother's account during my father's dying days and never apologized for causing her considerable stress during her most vulnerable moments. After that, they screwed up my request to send me a new card after my old card was stolen. Finally, I went in earlier today and found out that their online system was down and the manager was unable to perform critical banking functions. Citizens Bank is utter garbage, I will be doing my business elsewhere.

Incompetent employees who do not verify identification when making account level changes. Will not be a Citizens customer in the future.

Seems like not much has changed over the years at the Lexington branch. I have to agree with all the negative press. The 2023 recent widespread 'technical issue' causing duplicate credit entries was alarming for some. I noticed the error directly and attempted to call OUR Lexington branch during business hours. Three attempts and NO ONE answered the phone. :( I thought to try the new Burlington branch and MacKenzie answered the phone on the 1st ring. She filled me in which assured me all was good!

I have been a Citizens BANK CUSTOMER FOR SEVERAL YEARS, mostly at the Lexington center branch. The service was good until about a year ago when the Bank changed all the credit cards rather suddenly. The debit card and the Mastercard I had used without any problems suddenly became unreliable and were refused at stores that previously had no problem with them. Lack of money in my accounts was not the problem. At the Lexington branch I had to wait for a half hour on a weekday to get anyone to ask if I needed help. The staff were notably younger than in previous visits and seemed reluctant to deal with customers. They had no useful ideas to offer. One bank employeee who worked at the Belmont Star Market on Trapelo Rd was very polite and helpful, as was one at Stop & Shop in Medford. But, an employee from Lexington hassled me to use a financial advisor from Citizens. I explained I had been working for some months with a very good advisor from a different company and did not want to change. The employee from CItizens was aggressive, rude and insistent, and I hung up the phone. I am looking at other banks that I will change to in the near future. Sad to see what used to be a good organization go down hill like this. Maybe it is a pandemic related problem finding good employees but it needs to be fixed. The credit cards sometimes work OK now, but the bank sends me letters saying I should more frequently use a debit card that was closed months ago and replaced with a newer one, or I will lose the reward points (which have never exceeded $25)

Incompetent employees who do not verify identification when making account level changes plus tellers with 0 customer service skills. Clearly a reason this branch is in the 2's. Will not be a Citizens customer in the future.

Not sure what people expect from banks, seems like they all get bad reviews- it was clean and the teller was friendly...

Clueless and greedy from the top down. If it weren't a business necessity, I would never work with them. They are not good Citizens and have a turnstile of new and untrained staff. They are slow with lots of excuses.
